DIGITALBITRATE : Le debit des chaines en numerique - TNT UK LONDRES -
it says 544x576 for 'xxXpanded TV'
but when I've watched that channel I noticed that the picture looks a bit blurred unlike other channels eg 'The Jewellery Channel' that also say 544x576 (where any small text on screen normally looks crisp and sharp) and yet both channels are on the same multiplex DVBT SDN and timesharing.

Is it that London have 'xxXpanded TV' at 544x576 but the Granada region has that channel at a lower resolution? (SK118AS)

Hi, I only get channels from PSB1 BBCA and PSB2 D3+4
The signal is excellent on those channels so wondered what the most likely reason would be.. The aerial is probably quite old it was there when I bought it but the cable is new and goes to one tv, no booster. I appreciate any advice you have,
thanks,
Phill

Phill: I'm going to guess that you're in a Freeview Light area.
If you can supply a postcode, we can let you know more.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I believe I am yes, so was surprised that we had such good reception on the channels we do have. It is HX7 6AA (winter hill).

The list is showing Emley moor but nobody uses Emley moor here anymore, we all use Winter hill as the signal is always stronger and we get more channels. I know it is possible to get 4od etc but not sure where to start improving when there is no channel on the other multiplex's to improve on if you know what I mean. Is there a list of the RF frequencies so I can tune the tv in manually? That way I can try aliening the aerial better, adding a booster etc.
Thank you for all your help, I am grateful.

Phill: Winter Hill is located @ 22 miles on a bearing of 249 degrees, you can check the Mux channel frequencies used by that station by opening the undermentioned link.

I previously used C58 to distribute my CCTV round my aerial system, but it recently has disappeared under interference. Any idea who is now using this channel and where I could find an unused channel?
Thanks,
David

David: The 700MHz band was auctioned off to the mobile networks and is probably now being used on one or more phone masts near you. Try UHF channel 33 as it doesn't seem to be in use on any transmitters predicted to be available at your postcode.

Umm, C33 appears to be used by Emley Moor!
Which transmitter do you get you Freeview from David?
You seem to be in a "good" location that can get signals from several (4) transmitters which are spread across most of the currently used UHF band (21-48) and that's in normal weather conditions.
Have you noticed any degradation whatsoever in Signal Strength but especially Quality on any of your normal reception? The reason I've asked is the possibil8ity of getting a free filter if you have noticed degradation. which if put in the correct place in your system might get rid of mobile interference.
The other thing I'd suggest is ensuring you are using double screened coax for your aerial and flyleads especially, to try and minimise interference getting into the system.
Are you using any amplification in your distribution system?
Maybe trial and error as regards choice of channel, I'd first try C49, C38, C39
Channels in use you may get signals from are 22, 23, 25, 26, 28 - 37, 40, 41, 43, 44, 46 - 48.
Other than that, try your Manual tuning on the TV to check what signals you actually are getting, obviously the direction and orientation of your aerial will reject a number of signals but others will be received off side lobes and the rear. Anything you find absolutely clear may be usable.
