Read this: Don't surrender BBC in face of political attacks, Melvyn Bragg urges

Summary: The government's politically motivated attacks on the BBC are part of a general abasement of British institutions in recent years, the broadcaster Melvyn Bragg has warned, as he called for the corporation to be protected. A former adviser to Theresa May reportedly warned of negative political consequences for the BBC should the appointment go ahead. And the prime minister used a minor row over whether Rule, Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory should be played as instrumental pieces only at the annual Proms to portray the BBC as unpatriotic. - www.theguardian.com

Hopefully, in two years time, the BBC's tax on TV viewers will be a thing of the past. The corporation has decended from being the formost educational channel to simply chasing the ratings and anti government/anti brexit bias.Unfortunately, at the moment, the viewer has to pay to watch the increasingly large number of 'repeats' being shown daily.
Shame we can't repeat the license and have, ( for the time being) have to renew each year in order to watch a load of old cr*p and reallity shows.

Thankfiully, in two year's time, the BBC's tax on viewers will be a thing of the past.
Since the government's review on how the corporation is funded, there has been nothing but anti-government/anti brexit bias from them. What was once a respected, reliable news source, has rapidly gone down hill - you can't even trust their 'red button' newsservice (page 160) to be explicit and geographically correct.

Reluctant payer:

FYI, AIUI, the "licence fee" is frozen for the next two years and isn't due to end until 2027 under these proposals.
