Brian D: Is this interference on one television only?
I am wondering if you have Freeview and satellite connected to it by SCART and that it is that which is causing the problem. Perhaps the SCART plug is not in correctly at one end.

My freeview box worked fine but just lately picture has been breaking up/pixelating and freezing and I get a message saying problems receiving signal check antenna. I'm not convinced it's my antenna and wonder is there anything else I can try before calling an aerial man out?
I've checked the connections and also reset box neither of which worked.

M Culham: Assuming that you cannot get Ideal World or Yesterday either (these also on Mux Ch63) then your sets tuner could be getting seriously desensitized by the Main high powered multiplexes at only 4 miles away, this making the very much lowered powered Ch63 multiplex difficult to receive.
Its really a case of a balancing act, whereby reducing the excessively high signal strength being received from the BBC and ITV1 Muxes operating at 100Kw, but without overdoing it and completely losing the lower powered Mux Ch63 on only 1.1Kw.
Try a factory re-set then scan using a set top aerial and see what comes up, although it has to be said at distances such as yours from the transmitter its a difficult exercise to get right, if indeed at all! even with the aid of a variable attenuator with a range of about a 0-20dB minimum if using a roof mounted aerial.
Another thing to try though is after carrying out a factory re-set manually tune in Mux Ch63, if results are obtained then use "add channels" to regain the remaining Muxes, as sometimes a dedicated tune will capture a channel that can be by-passed on an auto-tune.

We keep losing our ITV and all connected channels. It happened again tonight whilst we were watching. It is fine for a week or two and then suddenly starts going into blocks and then blanks and a no signal appears. It returns maybe the next day and then is fine for a while. We have a Sony Bravia TV with integral freeview and 2 televisions with set top boxes . We have retuned all of them when neccesary and it still happens grrrr!

Your not alone. Same thing happened tonight when watching a film called The Knowing. Kept going off then coming back on again and, now the film The Butterfly Effect which is on in the background is being interrupted in the same way. This is driving us crazy and yet it says that the signal from Crystal Palace is fine. We live in Caterham, Surrey so if anyone reads this and is experiencing the same problem could you post your experiences - could it be weather conditions ??

Sarah Thompson.Hard to say without a full postcode.Yes it most certainly will be down to atmospheric conditions.Click on inversion effect link !

Ann Beale.Hard to say without a full postcode. Is it affecting yer Sony Bravia freeview TV and yer two set-top boxes all together at the same time. The most likely cause being atmospheric conditions (inversion) although some viewers on the Crystal Palace transmitter have problems on Mux 2 (ITV1,Channel 4,Channel 5,ITV2 as examples) on frequency 22,here single frequency interference could be an issue.
