Dave Lindsey/ Dave; If I remember rightly, BTvision boxes are not very good for signal info,
You cannot manual tune them or stop them from uploading more than one transmitter,
And this does seem to confuse them?
I believe theres a chance that the BTvision box is struggling with 2 lots of info?
Maybe if you can attenuate the signals it may help? slim chance tho in good areas.
Can you (Dave) manual tune the TV just so you know the Aerial is working ok

Alan Harris : If you are meaning that an "external" signal strength meter is indicating full strength then the immediate thing that would spring to mind is whether or not you have horizontally aligned the dish on Astra 28.2 and not on one of the other sats positioned on either side of it? as the difference in adjustment between them is quite fractional.

Prior to digital switchover, I could receive all the BBC channels, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV 2, ITV 3, Film 4, E4, etc. from the Hannington transmitter. Now I can only receive the BBC channels, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, even after re-tuning. It seems I have lost a whole block of channels, including 8-12, 15-27 and 29-32. Do I need to have my outside aerial upgraded or repositioned? Basically - Help!

Mike Hardy: It's impossible to answer such a question without knowledge of your location, preferably in the form of postcode, or that of a nearby property such as a shop, this being for the purposes of checking predicted availability of signals in the area.

Good evening everyone.
I have just moved from a property in se2 to another in the same postcode and I believe my arieal should be pointing to se20ls. At my previous address I had tv reception without issue. I had all the freeview channels but here, I'm only able to get bbc and those channels related to the bbc (bbc3/cbbc etc) and even then the reception is bad or goes faulty. I don't have a freeview box but would like some advice on what I can do to rectify this annoying situation. Also, I forgot to add that when I tune the tv i get "22" channels but not itv or C4 or the channels related to those stations (itv3/ film 4) as I did in my previous address which was just a few minutes away. Any and all help is appreciated.

Sally: Which post code are you in?
Along Federation Road there are aerials pointing to the main transmitter at Crystal Palace and some which are pointing to the Woolwich. If it's the latter then it only broadcasts the PSB (Public Service Broadcaster) channels, so no ITV3, ITV4 etc.
Crystal Palace aerials are set horizontally (elements flat) and point north west.
Woolwich aerials are set vertically (elements up/down) and point a bit clockwise of south west.

Is there a way I can get someone round. Someone reputable because I can't climb to the top of my house to check?

Sally: I think the area you're in is very difficult for reception from Crystal Palace, which is the main transmitter which broadcasts all channels. For that reason what can and can't be received is likely to vary from property to property, and perhaps by time of year.
The reason is because Bostall Hill and Shooters Hill are in the way, which is tree-lined (not good). Couple this with other obstructions such as the school and adjacent four-storey blocks of flats.
If your set has manual tuning then, for ITV/C4/C5 etc scan UHF channel 57 for Woolwich transmitter or UHF channel 26 for Crystal Palace.
If the Woolwich signal is better than the Crystal Palace one then maybe your aerial is pointing to the Woolwich transmitter.
