Channel 4 HD is on Freesat EPG - at last!
Almost three years after the launch of Freesat, Channel 4's high definition channel has finally appeared in the electronic programme guide of the free-to-air satellite service.
The service can now be found at position 126.
This now means you can watch the same four HD services on Freeview HD and Freesat HD: BBC One HD, ITV1 HD, Channel 4 HD and BBC HD.

I've read rumours somewhere that E4 HD has been testing FTA, and if it has been doing and it becomes FTA and goes on the Freesat EPG, Freesat will become even more worth it then Freeview! But as things are, this is simply great news!!

Josh: They do have a whole transponder there, and Film4 HD is currently "exclusive" to Virgin Media too.
I would expect the HD versions of such "national" channels as E4HD and Film4HD to appear in Freesat EPG in the "normal" EPG numbers.

At what point will 4HD start transmitting pictures on Freesat? I get the EPG listing showing the programs in the main guide, but when I select the channel the screen is blank except for the pop-up channel info initially.

JeepUK: The channel has been transmitting for some months now. You may need to check your dish is correctly aligned.

I get all the other channels no problem - using a Panasonic Freesat/Freewiew HD TV bought new at Xmas. Channel 126 is just a blank screen with no sound and just the pop-up guide when first changing to the channel - this shows what the current program should be.

Just tried auto setup of freesat on the TV - seems to have sorted it. I'd better check the recorder next.

Hi, While looking for Channel 4 HD, I noticed that I now have ITV Player listed.. Anyone have any idea when it will start transmission.

John: ITV Player is not a transmission service, it is provided via the Ethernet connection on the device.
