published on UK Free TV

By a modification to one of the parameters used for broadcast (the "forward error correction") the capacity of the multiplexes increases by 12.5%, which is sufficient for an additional standard-definition channel to be broadcast - see Freeview modes - a simplified explanation.

The changes are taking place on a rolling programme. This week:

There is also a retune at Sudbury on Wednesday morning, with ArqB moving from C50 to C63. This releases C50 for Tacolneston ArqB next Wednesday, C63 having formerly been Tacolneston Mux 1.

Sudbury is still blocked from going to final channels until Dover completes switchover in June.

We are having a problem with our Freeview reception. Our postcode is SM7 1LL, we use the Chrystal Palace transmitter. Over the past 2 weeks or so the reception for ITV1, Ch4, Ch5 and others has been very poor to the point where w have lost them totaly. Now we cannot get them back at all. We have retuned several times but to no avail.

Over past two days Digital reception has deteriorated: Now we only get Channels 32 and 48. Postcode TN30AB and the aerial points to Crystal Palace, which according to web does not provide Channel 48!. Despite frequent retunes we no longer get any other channels. Problem apppears similar to Jon of Bansted! Palace reports no problems!

the best thing to do is take out aerial lead,
then perform default setings,do an auto tune which will clear all channels in memory and
say no channels found. NOW put aerial lead
back in and do an autotune/first time installation, you should get all your stations then,
hope this helps.

Have sky and freeview through aerial as well. No problem with channels via sky but from 16th November had to retune to Sudbury transmitter to get certain channels which had "gone missing" via aerial freeview( built in freeview in tv.) Channels now O.K. but radio channels in the 800 range are"not tuned" Are they not now available on freeview (obviously can get them via sky) Tried manual retune but still not available.

Roger Peters: From what I can make out, there are no retune events tomorrow for the transmitters that serve your area.

Do you know what transmitter your aerial points at? If not, what direction is it pointing?

Is your TV and Humax served by the same aerial?
