My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

The Dave channel just said "no signal"..I retuned, including unplugging the freeview box and tuning without aerial...nothing found. I replugged and retuned and now have most channels crystal clear but 10,11 and 19 (and the shopping channels...that is a blessing) have all gone. Anyone any ideas please?

Hi all just got this from Five million London homes must 'full retune' when switchover ends on 18th April | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice
Do not expect ANY FREEVIEW television service from midnight until 6am - or a late as mid-afternoon on some relay transmitters (see below for timetable). This means you will not be able to record Freeview programmes overnight. --- but you can watch online here - www.ukfree.tv link icon Watch live UK TV channels and listen to live radio now.
so we will have to wait :-).

Can any one explain why I am not recieving any of the Freeview HD channels. I have a Samsung LED built in Freeview HD TV. I have tried retuning and disconecting the ariel and power but am still unable to recieve any of the HD channels. I live in the Portsmouth area and reception has never been a problem before. I am still recieving all of the other SD channels with no problem. Appreciate any advice on this. Thank you :-(

Mike: A HD TV does not necessarily have the ability to receive HD signals. These are usually described as HD Ready. Full HD simply means 1080p and doesn't mean that a Freeview HD tuner is contained within.
Look in the specifications. DVB-T is the standard definition format and DVB-T2 is the high definition one. So if it says the only the former, then it won't receive HD pictures itself.

Thank for your prompt reply
My TV is a Sony KDL-40W5500 which, if I read the specification correctly, has an High Definition TV Tuner (MPEG-4) - H.264, therefore I assume is should receive HD channels. I suppose it could be my aerial, however, it is not too old and has a signal booster attached to it so I assume it should be OK.

Mike: I found the manual here:
http://pdf.crse.com/manua….pdf
The specs on page 48 only say "DVB-T" and not T2.
This review mentions it coming out in 2008:
Sony KDL-40W5500 review from the experts at whathifi.com
DVB-T2 was only finalised in 2008, so when the model was conceived, the specification for HD broadcasts had not.
