My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Aberdeen
Hi, my postcode is AB24 2GF, I only get 20 Freeview channels as my transmitter is Balgownie which is from the Durris Transmitter. Why do people in other areas of Aberdeen get all the freeview channels and will this change in the future for the Balgownie transmitter.

D Westland: Balgownie is a low powered relay station which serves an area that does not get good reception of Durris. The commercial broadcasters are not interested in broadcasting from such transmitter (there are over 1,000 of them) which only cover a small area of population and would not produce a worthwhile return on investment. According to the Digital UK postcode checker, you could potentially receive the COM4-6 multiplexes from Durris, however this would be at a low signal strength and would likely be prone to problems. You would probably be better off looking at getting Freesat if you want more channels.

StevensOnln1: satellite not an option either as I have a wood across the road with large beech trees etc and I cant get a satellite signal even our broadband is poor so not that great streaming either, I feel a bit annoyed I have to pay for a tv licence without actually having a reliable service available to me.

Marshall: Your licence fee has nothing to do with how you get your signal - its gives you the right to get one. However, you could try to see if you can resite the dish, so as to avoid the trees.

peter rance: Humax have given you the UHF channel numbers for the Crystal Palace transmitter in South London, whereas it sounds like your aerial is pointed at the Bluebell Hill transmitter in Kent which uses UHF channels 46/43/40 for PSB1-3 and 45/39/54/32/34 for COM4-8 (there is also the lower powered local mux on 27).
