My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Hi There,
I live in DE22
Fingers crossed someone can point me in the right direction.
I have re-tuned our TV with built in Freeview fine in the bedroom - all channels work OK.
Downstairs we have a TV with external Freeview box. I have re-tuned this several times now and it just won't pick up BBC1, BBC2 or BBC3.
Could it be a faulty box? It did work fine up until the change over.
Any pointers would be great.
Cheers!

I have re-tuned one of my TV (3 yrs old)and now can get 1-4 however can't get anything else.
I will have another go at my main TV after Doughton Abbey!! My sister in Chesterfied told me they got a leaflet through the door explaining what was going to happen, not so lucky in the Watford area! I think our transmitter is Hemel Hempstead, can anyone confirm this! Thank you

Have a look at the following site - TVs and boxes that do not support the 8k-mode | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice
I take it you've tried the steps at the top of this page? You might want to do a manual re-tune after doing an auto-scan to get the missing channels.

Yesterday my itv channel was playing up and today I used the reset procedure as suggested and I have lost the EPG row 2 of channels ie skips from 2 (bbc2) to 7 (bbc3). For the last 10 months I have not had any problems with my freeviw box. I live in a converted flat so there is a shared aerial in the loft but I am not sure it will be this as I have not had a problem before. I recently have got broadband I wonder if this may cause interference. I would be grateful for any advise as I am missing my tv programmes.

At approx midnight I lost signal but remembered some alert popping up earlier saying this might happen on the 21st. I've done a 'first time installation' at least 3 times now and am not getting half of the channels I had before.

All channels went off after midnight when the switch over takes place and tried to do a fresh intallation on all tvs in house and cannot pick up any channels whatsoever on the freeview/DTV
Any advice to how long this should last?
Should there even be a period of time during the switch over where you may be unable to recieve anything.
