Shelley: The term "digi box" in generally accepted terms always refers to a Sky satellite set top box, but however if you are indeed referring to your new TV having Freesat built in then you wont be able to get Dave as its not a Freesat channel.

Should on the other hand you are referring to your TV having terrestrial Freeview then it should be on channel 19 transmitted on multiplex C, which of course you possibly might not be receiving depending location / signal strength, a way to test whether or not you can is to try viewing E4+1(Ch29)as its also on MuxC.

Hi jb38
Thank you for your comment and excuse my ignorance.

My new TV has Freeview built into it. I have had a look and we dont have E4+1 either. Prior to this new TV we were using a TV with separate Freeview box and got all the channels so I guess it is something to do with the TV.

Would I need to buy a signal booster?

Shelley: Thanks for the update, content of somewhat confirming what I suspected.

I would suggest that you carry out a manual tune scan on MuxC to see what the signal strength / quality is, however I am unsure as to what station your aerial is facing as it can be either Caradon Hill or Redruth, but if you select BBC1 and on the signal strength / quality checking menu you see Ch28 being shown then you are on Caradon Hill, with this making MuxC on 24.

On the other hand if you see Ch44 (whilst on BBC1) you are facing Redruth with this making MuxC test be on Ch52.

You should carry out a rescan now and again anyway as the EPG channels obtainable are only those that were picked up at the time the scan took place, and if any reception glitches occurred whilst it was being done it could cause some stations to be missed, and which are not recoverable without a new scan.

Is Dave available on FreeSat? Available on Freeview but where do I find it on FreeSat? Hard times mean Sky cancellation, Freeview reception not good so FreeSat option installed. STV area.

So why is it available on Freeview? That makes no sense!

Magwall: Because UKTV are not permitted by their Sky contract to put any of their channels free-to-air on satellite.

OIC. Had I realised that, I would've gone for the basic Freeview option on the switchover help scheme!

Magwall: You can get a Freeview box for £10 in some places, there is no problem using both Freeview and Freesat to get the widest range of channels.
