Francis James Blackwell: At that postcode, you are predicted to have very good reception of all channels

See for yourself:

Go to the Freeview Checker page

Platform management | Freeview

Enter your postcode and house name or number and click on Check

We need to verify that your aerial is pointing at the right Transmitter.

It will be helpful, firstly, to us to know the make and model of your receiver.

George Barnes: Did you receive Forces TV previously? Forces TV is on the COM7 multiplex which is only broadcast from 25 main transmitters, so it may not be available from the transmitter you receive (if you provide a full postcode we can check).

Tony Smith: You need a TV Licence to watch any TV channel in the UK, either at the time it is broadcast or by recording it to watch later.

George Barnes:

Like you I lost Forces TV after a recent retune - however if you find `Add New DVB Services` or `Add New DVB Channels` (one or the other) on your `Tuning` menu in Setup, then AFTER your main retune, select either, let your machine do the searching, and hopefully you will get back Forces TV.

It did on my machine.

Good Luck

JC:

A retune in recent days may have missed signals that could be weaker at your location such as COM7, possibly due to adverse weather conditions called "Tropospheric Ducting" see Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | RTIS for a simplistic explanation.

It can be quite variable, come and go within seconds, minutes or hours. It doesn't necessarily affect all multiplexes at the same time or at all. At times it can wipe out your reception.
There are also periods when there is transmitter maintenance where signals may be weaker or off-air.

You are not advised to retune when your normal signals are suddenly missing or they are badly pixellated as this usually just clears correct tuning and you have to repeat a retune when signals are stable. You may have to repeat a retune several times if signals are still disrupted.

For which channels are on which multiplex see Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview

If it's just one multiplex missing, you can try a manual retune for the particular UHF channel for that multiplex for your transmitter (will vary from transmitter to transmitter).

R curno:

Forces TV is on the COM7 multiplex, see Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview
You need a set with a T2/HD tuner to get HD multiplexes such as PSB3/BBCB HD and COM7. Do you get HD channels at LCNs101-105?
You may be in a location that cannot get the temporary COM7 multiplex which is lower power than the others.
We need a full postcode to look at the predicted reception for your location.
