From Wikipedia: The channel had been available from launch on UPC Ireland, but was pulled on 22 March 2006. The channel had already been and remains available to Irish viewers on free-to-air satellite for some time, however it has not been listed in the Sky electronic programme guide since its removal on 25 January 2006. ITV3 took its channel number and bandwidth meaning all platforms could be launched simultaneously. - en.wikipedia.org read more about ITV3 on wikipedia (summary by Clipped).

Mrs Willis:
The ITV Player uses your internet connection and if that is slowed, either by other traffic or contention problems, then the speed of the download is not enough to provide uninterupted viewing.
What type of broadband service do you use? If it is a firbe type product there may be some adjustment needed by your ISP. If it is via the normal telephone wires (using ADSL) then it is likely to be the best you can get until fibre is available at your premises.

Using a terrestrial aerial, we can get every other station but not ITV3. Our post code is EX7 9 LU Any suggestions like use Freesat or point our aerial one way or tother ? Thanks in anticipation. Noel.

Noel Bristow: According to the DigitalUK tradeview (accessed to the right of your post) you are predicted to receive a variable reception from Beacon Hill, which transmits ITV3 on UHF ch42. Presumably your aerial points south-west and not north-east?
What I would do first is establish the signal strength/quality on each mux. Use either the signal strength screen or manual retune option (without actually pressing search) to see what UHF channel and strength/quality it gives you on the following channels:
BBC1, ITV, ITV3, PickTV, Yesterday (as well as BBC1 HD and BBC NEWS HD if you have them).
It could be because UHF 42 is the lowest of the 5 frequencies you will be picking up from Beacon Hill that the signal is just too low. Or it could be that you have a C/D group aerial that won't give as good a signal on that frequency.

Noel Bristow: Where's your aerial pointing (which direction/transmitter) and is it vertical or horizontal?

Thanks Dave. The aerial points to 300 degrees and is horizontal. Thanks so much for your kind help. Regards, Noel.

Noel Bristow: 288 degrees vertical (elements up/down) is the Dawlish transmitter which doesn't carry ITV3, ITV4, Pick, Dave, 4Music and others. 214 degrees horizontal (elements flat) is Beacon Hill whose ITV3 is on C42, as Michael says. However, you will probably be pushing your luck to get it reliably due to the terrain:

Tricia ITV 3 is transmitted on 690 MHz which is multiplex COM4 (SDN), see Mendip (Somerset, England) Full Freeview transmitter | ukfree.tv - 12 years of independent, free digital TV advice for full detail of the programmes being broadcast as part of that miltiplex. If you are able to watch any of the other services, then your receiver is getting the multiplex. It is worth checking whether you can watch all the other programmes on COM4 using the list shown by the URL given.
