Jim: ' most of North Nottinghamshire won't be able to receive their service' - I've seen 5 m inutes of it (its broadcast from Waltham, so I get it). Frankly, they are not missing much.

MikeB:
I suppose that local tv means far more to local people than to those who live away from the area for which the programmes are intended.
Perhaps all Peterborough news and features would mean very little to me here in Notts.
Why Notts tv is beamed towards South Lincolnshire and The Fens, I just don't know.
I think it will be difficult for each station to produce enough fresh programming (specific to their own local area) to keep their respective audiences entertained and so attract those all-too-essential advertisers.
I dare say that over time, to fill the schedules, we in South Nottinghamshire will be viewing local programmes from the other stations, as will they see ours too.
Which makes me wonder if the local tv experiment will succeed.

Jim: Indeed, local TV should be local! Actually, my reference was to the seeming general quality of the programme, but hopefully I'll be proved wrong.

Cindy Smith: It's not available on Freesat.
To receive it your aerial must be pointing to Waltham. If reception at New Ollerton Post Office is anything to go by then you have no chance, Waltham being poor and Emley Moor and Belmont being good.

I've noticed today, that posters have appeared in Nottingham stating that Notts tv will be available on
Sky (presumably channel 117) from July 2015. I would therefore think that it will be available throughout the Nottingham (NG) postcode area.
