I have Freeview Sky and have used the card (in a cam slot) to view Sky Sports 1 and 2 through my Humax in both London and Devon

However this Xmas (2010) I was unable to receive either channel in Devon.

Have the security settings changed to not allow portability of the service any longer? If so is there any way around this?

Thanks

We have a fairly new Sony HD LCDTV. For some reason only occasionally we get Freeview channels. And in the last couple of days we are having problems with the main channels BBC1, 2, ITV etc. Either saying NO SIGNAL or the picture and sound keeps on cutting out. please advise.

Geoff Howson: If you are receiving Freeview with good reception on your tv you should be ok with the HD mux if it is transmitted in your area. You should only need a replacement or additional aerial if your area has not switched over yet and you have to pick up the HD mux from a different transmitter or you are able to receive a temporary service which is transmitted at lower power than the other muxes which results in poor signal pick up. If there is no HD signal at all in your area you will have to wait for switchover anyway, after which you will have the full power HD mux available.

Mrs Radia: The Digital UK postcode checker predicts a full freeview service is available at your location, including HD from the Crystal Palace transmitter. If you are using the Hemel Hempstead relay (aerial mounted with rods vertical) reception is a mixed bag and is likely to get worse. Changing to CP would be advised in this case.In any case check cables and connectors for damage or poor contact.

Angie Matthews: No.

Get a freesat hd pvr instead, £200 (ish) one off cost and you use the same satellite dish and cables, etc.

I had freeview installed in August 2010. Post Code DD2 1RJ / Craigkelly transmitter.

The reception is still poor and both sound and picture qualities vary every day, notwithstanding the fact that the installer said the signal was good.

I am advised that all will be well after June 2011. Am I being told the truth?

Is Craigkelly not performing as well as they expected?

Please help.
