Hi, I have a Freeview set top box which has been fine for past couple of years. I suddenly started to encounter a problem with reception a couple of weeks ago. The number and quality of channels available varies literally from hour to hour. Have tried cheap replacement set top - that cannot pick up any channels! No one's been on roof therefore cannot see how aerial has been dislodged. Have had no major work done in house. Electrics on hob tripped main fuse box just prior to the problem (can't see that would effect it?). Got new Wii game that requires wireless connectivity though that's switched off when game not in use. Apparently no work been done on transmitters that should effect it (I live in Reading). Any thoughts most welcome!

brill: Method 3 will only work if you have a good signal. Connect everything back up and ensure your signal level reports as "OK".

chris: See ITV1+1 11 January 2011 (at last) | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

"They" could not. ITV own the slot, they are only likely to use it to broadcast one of their channels.
