Channel One to close, Challenge to come to Freeview
Sky is closing one pay and one free channel from the portfolio it bought from Virgin TV, because they match channels already provided by Sky.
Bravo and Channel One (which was Virgin 1 and before that FTN) will close.
This means that the Channel One slot on Freeview will be replaced with the quiz show channel Challenge.
Challenge is now in the Freeview guide on 46. If you can't see it yet, please follow these instructions on your set-top box or Freeview TV: My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong - ukfree.tv.

I'd say BBC news is the 1 and only thing that gives purpose to having the guilty until proven innocent scheme of collecting the tv license. I really think it's the best news service in the world, and hopefully the Americans look over and feel embarrassed about their crappy money and politically motivated news services, and you just know Sky news would be falling over theirselves to be exactly the same if allowed.

june crawford: I think it was last on BBC Four. I can't think of a channel that shows such old programmes anymore.

if i sold r.murdock a car with a cd player and then later with a spare key removed it and fitted a cassette player i'm sure it would be unacceptable yet he remove part of my viewing package at his bloody convenience

Now C1 is gone you are hard pushed to find something decent to watch if you only have freeview like I do.
All the good stuff is ending up on Sky so it has to be paid for and freeview will more than likely be shut down as it will not be worth watching. This is what Murdock wants. If he thinks he is going to force me to pay him to watch TV then he can forget it. I have two words for him NO WAY.
Freeview status: Less good stuff now and more rubbish than the council land fill site.

Just got myself 1 of those Pc satellite recievers, so i'll give the dish a spin and see if any other countries have anything worth watching for free, i mean i'd rather learn another language than be forced to give my money to Sky.
