I Live in a apartment(10 story building) which has got common dish on the roof and have freeview digital box(able to view Freeview channels). Now, I bought a Thompson sky box but it is not receiving any signal(no satellite signal is being received error 29). I've done the 3 steps but still no signal on the box. Can you please help. I've got one coaxial cable which I connected to the "arial in" of the box but nothing connected to the "dish input" port of the box, will buying a separate cable for "dish input" solve the problem or the box has become useless coz I don't have a sky dish. Please guide me thru the steps.

No I'm sorry virgin control that from start to finish, virgin are not to bad to deal with, there broadband and phone/TV are very good, alternative is freeview you will need an aerial fitting, or freesat and you will need a dish fitting.Tom Fletcher Alpha Aerials Sheffield.

You need to get someone in who has the proper meters to check things out, then you would know what the fault is ,you could go on for ever messing about with things like that.

Deepack: The Sky box will not work with nothing connected to the dish input port.If a feed is available from the communal dish there should be a socket for an F connector (screw-on type)on the aerial socket plate. This must be connected to the Sky box dish input using a suitable lead fitted with an F connector at each end.

Hi There. Can someone tell me...If I have a Virgin HD+ box can I connect this to my sky satellite dish to receive all the freesat channels? Im currently not receiving sky so the wire from the dish is not connected to anything. But virgin do not have fibre optic in the area I have moved so cannot offer their TV service so I wondered if I could connect the sky dish to the Virgin HD+ boxes but Im not sure if they use different frequencies etc??
