BBC iPlayer on Freesat
A beta release of BBC iPlayer on Freesat is available to Humax Freesat boxes in December.
BBC iPlayer will roll out across all existing Freesat HD TVs and boxes in the next few months including those bought since Freesat's launch in May 2008.

Tudor: I am presuming you do have sound for everything else, such as watching TV from the box?

i get very poor quality streaming of bbci player thru my bush freesat. picure jumps and often goes out of sync with voice. it's hard wired via cat5 cable and we get 8MBs broadband. is this a common problem with this box? had a trial of humax freesat box and that seemed to run better. on laptop bbci player runs perfectly.

Hi I have a Humax Foxsat-HDR and have recently tried to get the BBC iPlayer working so connected the box to the LAN but...
When I go on to BBC1 and press the red button, I get the folowing list...
News, Sport, weather, Business, Entertainment,Royal Wedding, Sport multiscreen, Watch BBC HD ... but no iPlayer.
It also says "BBC iPlayer is coming to Freesat HD - 7001
Can someone explain how I get the iPlayer working?

Robert Welsh: You need to ensure that the software on the box is the latest version, do a "software upgrade" from the Humax menus.

Thanks but that wasn't the problem.. I discovered that the iPlayer is now on Channel 901.
Maybe the video to advise on the set-up need to be updated.

CAn anyone please tell me how to configure an Airport Express to stream iPlayer to my Humax Freesat HD via a LAN connection. I am trying to achieve this by bridging to my home network (hence broadband connection).
When I plug the LAN into my laptop to test connectivity, I am informed that the cable is not connected. Naturally, I am also not getting iPlayer options when the LAN is connected to the Humax box. Thanks.

Ansel Spear: You won't be connecting to the Airport Expresss, the RJ45 connection on there is for the device to connect to your network, or directly to your router.
If you don't have spare Ethernet RJ45s on your home router, you will have to buy an Ethernet Switch so you can connect more than one device to your home router.

Thanks for your reply. But surely I can connect the Airport Express to the Humax RJ45 (isn't it a CAT5?).
I know of people who are using Bush Freesat and Airport Express combos to stream iplayer.
Is it not the same principal as a Home Plug Adapter that the BBC recommend?
