BRIAN: If you currently have good reception on the analogue channels you should have no problem receiving the PSB muxes after switchover in April 2011.(They will use the same frequencies as the current analogue transmissions). The Digital UK postcode checker shows you should have good reception of the COM muxes after 28th September 2011. Note that the frequencies to be used for the COM muxes lie outside the range used for the analogue services. As a result a wideband or a group K receiving aerial will be needed for best reception of all muxes.

Can I connect a freeview box to my tv with JUST a scart lead, or do I need an RF cable as well?

Jackie: If you only want to view programmes via the Freeview box then yes, as the RF lead to the TV is only required if you also want to view from it on its own at any time.
Of course this being said taking it that you do have a normal aerial installed, with a lead from going into the Freeview box.

patricia turnpenny: Yes, or you can run a cable in yourself using a kit from a high-street store, such as Buy Philex 15m TV Aerial Extension Kit at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for TV aerials, boosters and accessories.

Can I connect a BT Vision box and a Freeview HD box to the same ariel and then to 1 TV? If so how?

Chris: Yes, I have two digiboxes on one ariel. one fed from the 'TV out' socket of the other DB. I find that one DB first in the chain gives a better result (less pixilation) than the other way round. In my case a philips DVD/DIgibox and a Labgear DB. It is the Labgear DB which prone to break up and pixielation if it is first.

Chris: Basically yes, as they are both Freeview devices, and although you might get away with "daisy chaining" the aerial through one box and into the other, I always recommend that a two way powered splitter is used to guarantee that each device receives exactly the same level of signal, the aerial going into the splitters common input and one output going to the BT box and the other to the Freeview HD box.
If the TV is Freeview as well, then use a powered splitter with more outputs.
Cant comment on TV connections, as you haven't mentioned what model of set is involved.

Brian and jb38 - thanks for your answers. I have a sony 32" LCD Freeview HD TV with multiple HDMI inputs. Unfortunately the FReeview on the TV is not HD and with BT Vision dragging their heels, I wanted a way to enjoy HD. Is the 2 way powered splitter different from a normal Y shaped coaxial areial splitter - if so do you have any recommended products/suppliers please?
Thanks
