jack: If you have to have the Fox T2 on as well then the TV you are watching is being fed from the T2 and not from the actual TV, the way to verify being to remove the aerial from the T2 and the picture should vanish.
What model of TV are you using? as if its a modern TV then you will have an input selector button on its remote, and if you have then select DVB if your set is a Freeview type, on some sets this is achieved via a menu on the screen that comes on after pressing the button marked TV on the remote.
I also assume that the aerial used on the TV is being fed from the aerial output socket on your T2? and that the normal roof (or wherever from) aerial is connected into the T2's aerial socket?
Anyway if you provide the model number of your TV I can check on its operation.

jack: Just a correction to what I mentioned regarding the aerial connections, without touching anything else whilst you are viewing the TV switch the Fox T2 into standby (not off completely) and as soon as the picture vanishes take the aerial out of the T2 and plug it directly into the TV's aerials input socket and check the results.

I have just rescaned my freesat tv. And it has come up with channel no - 0979 Freesat4. It is in between channel 999 and BBC1. It says ITV Player. Is it a error or something new?. Thanks

my dtr 210/05 looses some of the channels after being switched off over night.
is it possible for me to use "factory default to solve this problem, and if so how do I get factory default

Albert Whitehouse: This issue is usually caused by the device finding more channels that its memory can hold. Fear not though, because its usually caused by signals from other transmitters taking up the memory.
When the automatic tuning scan runs through it searches signals from low frequency to high frequency. My guess is that the transmitter that you are served by uses high frequencies and that you are in an area where another transmitter or transmitters overlap on lower frequencies. Consequently, the scan stores those and fills up the memory.
If you let me know where you are, preferably in the form of post code or nearby post code, then I can work out which signals your transmitter uses and which may be causing the problem. Depending on what it is that you need to avoid and what it is that you need to pick up one possible workaround might be to run the automatic tuning scan with the aerial unplugged for part.
Do you know what transmitter you are supposed to be receiving from or what direction your aerial is pointing in? And what is your location?

Albert Whitehouse: Regarding the factory reset, to clear the box of anything stored press the "Menu" key for the main menu and select "installation" followed by selecting "First time installation", the box will then switch off for a few seconds, and as soon as the LED on the front panel switches off you can begin a fresh installation again, either by trying another auto-scan and seeing how that goes, or if the problem returns carry out the aforementioned reset followed by the action suggested by Dave Lindsay.

Can anyone suggest why my Sony Freeview DVD/HDD pixelates and squawks when displaying any BBC channel or Film 4 /ITV4 but my Panasonic Freeview TV connected to the same aerial displays them without problem. I note these channels are transmitted on 2 distinct multiplexes where signal strength /quality could be an issue but this does not explain why 1 unit has problems and the other does not.

Did nobody consider the effects of high preesure when digital TV was invented?

Julian P: This is simply because of one device having a more sensitive tuner than the other, as no two tuners have the same sensitivity. The only thing that usually helps in this type of situation is by using a two way powered splitter, as this not only guarantees that each of the two devices will receive exactly the same level of signal but also gives each of them a slight boost at the same time.
Just as a matter of interest where are you receiving your signal from? as according to the post code it could be either Guildford or Midhurst but with neither exactly indicating as being sparkling as far as reception on a permanent basis is concerned.
