Hello Brian.... You have a good informative site.
I found you using a google search:
"al jazeera freesat off air"
You were no.5 on google - nice!
Using Freesat,
My location is Narbonne, Southern France.
Well outside 1N UK and 2F UK footprints.
I have, what I hope, are some interesting questions for you:
2F UK:
As I understood it, 2F is a spot beam, yet I get good signals for BBC 1, ITV & +1 and ITV HD on 0965
1N UK:
Has the same footprint as 2F, so I presume it is also a spot beam, yet I can receive all those channels.
Q1. Have these channels actually moved to 2F and 1N, or is your published data for the near future?
28A Super:
This has a HUGE footprint, and yet France 24 has a very poor signal, and is the first to go, if we have a bit of rain.
Ie. It is theoretically on the strongest signal, yet it is very weak.
Q2. What can I learn from this..... Am I mis-aligned a bit?
If so, I'm happy with that, if I'm getting all the main channels on 1N and 2F.
So I'm looking at your data, but am unable to relate it to the signals that I'm actually receiving.
Q3. Could you spare the time and run through the data, to confirm that the channels are allocated correctly to the individual satellites?
Q4. Can one align the satellite to specifically 1N UK (say) or ideally 1N & 2F (to get the main channels)?
As I'm sure you will understand.... I, like many others, are very concerned about 'spot' transmission, and the loss of the main channels.
Apparently, the big changes are due any time now.
This makes the data all the more important, because a lot of people are gonna be trying to understand which channels they've lost for good (like channel 5 etc.) and which channels they can get, perhaps with a bit of fine satellite adjustment.
Thanks again for putting the time in, to create such a good informative site.

Freesat France24 signal is no longer found (midlands UK). All other channels fine so I assume something has happened in the transmission?
