Why after numerous resets does the picture & channels still lock up on my 7 year old Philips 32PF5200 TV, it was fine until the digital switchover in February, the aeriel & lead connections have been checked 3 times since then by professional installer who says best thing is get a new TV, but after only 7 years why is a set which cost in excess of £800 a write off, the pre-flat panel sets were never this short lived

mayo - I presume you ARE the person on AV Forums with the same problem and a 6yo set?

If not, google for it and compare notes!

matt hope: Without knowing the model of TV involved have you set the TV in question back on its analogue mode rather than DVB?, and if you have completely reset it you will have to carry another retune "whilst set on analogue" so that it will find the Sky boxes RF2 channel again.

Should you still experience the problem please indicate the model of TV involved.

Hi Stephen P. you've rumbled me, some possible clues on AV to my Freeview Freeze prob., such as being overpowered & to use a "Variable Attenuator" to check are a start before I throw in the towel & head off to Richer Sounds.

jb38 thanks very much that has got me sky back on upstairs. but the reason i did a full reset was that the sky picture upstairs was in black and white and after doing what you said it is still in black and white. the picture on digital tv is colour only when i try and watch sky is it black and white any ideas
