You will need a dish pointed at the Hot Bird 6/7A/8 at 13.0ðE satellite to get:
RAI Uno
RAI Due

Canale Lavoro
RAI Edu 1
RAI Mosaico
RAI News 24
Camera dei Deputati
TelePace
RAI Sport Satellite
RAI Nettuno Sat Due
RAI Edu 2

Sat 2000
Italia 1
Canale 5
Rete 4

Well on 20 June, the mediaset channels (La5, Canale 5, Iris etc) seem to have scrambled and no longer are viewable
There was a message stating that the frequency was changing but the TivuSat box doesn't seem to find the new frequency. We have tried doing an auto-search or manually amending the frequency - but to no avail. I believe the new we're was 11919 V 29900 5/6.
Any ideas - or can anyone confirm the above frequency?

Hi Aaron,
Are using a tivu box with subscription card? If so that's interesting as we also lost the mediset channels but that was via a non-tivu box i.e just free to air on 11373 H. As I know TIVU & Free to air should both be at 11919 V 29900 5/6 but when we do a search it seems to only find scrambled channels. (so it should work if you have a tivu box)
Can anyone confirm that Mediset is available at 11919V and if it's FTA or encrypted?
Thanks,
Frank

Hi there,
I have today brought a Tivusat Telesystem HD box for my auntie. I entered the Codice Fiscale to activate the card, I also used their address in Italy but they only go here for holidays once or twice a year. Will this be a problem? Will this be checked??
Many Thanks
Tina

Tina, only the validity of the codice fiscale can be checked, not the actual
geographical location, so there should not be any problems.
Giovanni, you need a tivu box with validated card (see Tina above) to get all
the channels and programmes. Any satellite box capable of receiving free-to-view
channels, including RAI, Canale5, Italia1 and Rete4 will work. However, under the veil of
geographical copyright, some programmes will only be visible with a validated tivu box.
There are other EU issues in the UK, but restrictions on satellite viewing are
a flagrant denial of "free movement of goods AND SERVICES". This issue
is currently under lethargic scrutiny in Brussels, however, so let us hope !

Watching Italian TV on my Samsung Tv with satellite receiver and Tivusat CI/CAM card.
Hello everyone, i bought the Tivusat CAM card and put it in my CI directly in the tv. The card is activated, I have Hotbird 13 and Astra 19 in my building however when I automatically tune the satellite there are NO italian channels present in the list (ie it's not that they are there and I can't see them). I suspect it's something with the settings of Hotbird Transponder (there is no universal setting), LNB frequencies/settings (i used 9750/10600). Any ideas please. I am trying to reduce the number of decoders, set up boxes. TV is UE40F6740 with Freesat HD. Thanks for your help!!

Andrea, are you sure that your TV can receive satellite signals directly? You probably need a satellite receiver between wall socket and TV. If you can borrow any kind of satellite receiver, try an automatic retuning scan to be sure your wall socket actually supplies signals from 13E. (It might be that the wall socket is not connected to the satellite distribution system in the building!) You should be able to receive
all the free-to-air channels, including a lot of Italian ones. Italian websites will then help you identify a satellite receiver which is compatible with your Tivusat card. I hope these ideas help; it is difficult to diagnose from a distance :-)

Michael:
A number of the Samsung TV sets have a built-in satellite receiver, mine does. Andrea's appears to have the CI module as well, allowing use of the card to 'authorise' reception of certain encrypted signals.
Has the wall socket with an 'F' connector previously supplied satellite signals from the 'birds' at 13 and 19 E? If so, then there must be some other problem. Have the correct satellite options been set up prior to trying to tune the satellite reception? Samsungs require telling which satellites to look for during tuning, the User Manual should help.

Mike and Andrea : if the TV does include a satellite tuner it just might work with a CAM and Tivu card, but they may only work in "dedicated" Tivu sat receivers. This is the case for the French TNT system. In any case a first step would be to ascertain whether a satellite signal from 19E or 13E is present at the wall-socket. Any FTA sat receiver would detect this, in which case the inbuilt sat receiver should resolve free-to-air broadcasts. The manual might help... It would also be worth checking whether others in the same complex receive French, Spanish or Italian programmes from 19E or 13E. If so, helpful neighbours might be willing to set up their box between Andreas wall-socket and the TV to check it. If a signal is present, it would be helpful to know the TV model etc to be able to advise further. Andrea, to recap the main issues, 1:check for satellite signal at the wall-socket. 2: If yes, check internal sat-receiver settings to receive free-to-view channels. 3: If ok, check documentation or internet re compatibility of the CAM and Tivusat card. If not compatible, you will need a dedicated TIvusat receiver and card.
