This transmitter has no current reported problems
The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Belmont (Lincolnshire, England) transmitter.UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Sam:
I'm afraid that is not unusual in some areas. DAB is less than ideal for car reception.

Sam: I have a friend who is having problems receiving Classic FM on DAB at the moment, station is either unavailable or distorted, all other stations are OK. This is happening on both radios in two different rooms I am also getting occasional drop outs.We both live on opposite sides of Boston Llncs. The problem seems to have developed over the past few weeks. I am assuming that the transmitter site is Belmont and there is no engineering work being carried on the transmitter or antennas. We have both tried moving the radios and retuning them all but the problem persists .

Radio Lincolnshire DAB signals have been breaking up all day 17 August on 3 sets with different aerials. According to your information there are no problems.
No problems via Cable TV or laptop,so must be your local transmitter??

Peter Reichelt: Hi, Peter. Remember that the Grantham Newgate Lane transmitter is only an 800 watts relay of its parent, Belmont. It's not unusual for a relay to go 'off air' without anyone reporting it. I would suggest you go online and use the 'Contact Us' facility on the BBC website and report the problem so that there is a formal record that the transmitter is experiencing problems. The BBC is responsible for what is called the 'Radio & Television Investigation Service' (RTIS), regardless of whether the lost service or services are BBC or commercial. The transmitter engineering company Arqiva seems less amenable to direct contact by members of the public, so I would take the BBC route if I were you. Richard, Norwich. PS, Have you noticed whether the other BBC stations are available on DAB at your location, because if it is just Radio Lincolnshire on DAB that is the issue in Grantham, it could be an issue on the local Lincolnshire DAB multiplex which is run by a company called MUXCO. BBC Local Radio on DAB is actually carried by COMMERCIAL local DAB multiplex operators rather than by the BBC. Muxco has a website to which you can refer for more details. Richard, Norwich.

Can anybody tell me how I could receive LBC radio on my car DAB radio in and around LINCOLN City until a couple of weeks ago and now I cannot. It reports that there's nothing wrong with the dab transmitter but this radio station is on the National list and I have no problem receiving Talk Radio, Capital, etc which are classified the same.

hello, I listen to lbc on dab but in the last few months it keeps breaking up, plus on another station, it is the same on other radios in the house but then again not on others. I live in Lincoln in the last few months a building has gone up 500yds away could this be a factor? any advice. thank you.

john barrowclough: The new building could be a factor if it is obstructing the path to the transmitter. Does it improve if you move the same radio to another room?
