Simon Bradfield:
Since around May last year I have been unable to receive the Al Jazzera channel from the Rowridge Transmitter. The Freeview engineer who visited me said it was because this channel is now broadcast from Rowridge on very low power. Please, please do something about this.

Simon L Bradfield: No one on this website has any connection with either the transmitter company or any broadcaster. The power levels of the temporary COM7 & COM8 multiplexes is not going to be increased as this would cause interference with other transmitters. Did the engineer check whether you have a wideband aerial or an older Group A aerial? COM7 & COM8 are now broadcast at the top end of the UHF band whereas the main multiplexes are broadcast at the bottom end, so a Group A aerial designed for the lower end of the UHF band won't give good reception of COM7 & COM8. If you provide a full postcode we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage, allowing further advice to be offered.

Les Holden: You're 33km away but are predicted to get a good signal from Rowridge. You need a wideband aerial mounted in horizontal polarity (with the little rods going side to side) pointing due South to get COM7 & COM8. I suspect you currently either have a Group A aerial (which isn't designed to receive UHF channels 55 & 56) or your aerial has been mounted vertically (little rods going up and down). If you can't get Forces TV on Freesat then you have a fault of some sort. If you go through all of the Freesat channels, are there any others which aren't working?

On Freeview I am also missing the following channels
56,57,64,67,74,78,83,84,89,91,92,93,96,and 99
A correcting on my Freeset I am receivingthe following mesage for 165 "No or weak signal"
I think you may be correct with referenceto a wideband aerial which I will try in the near future

To get all the available channels from the Rowridge transmitter it is essential that you use a wideband aerial as though most programmes are in the lower range, two are in the uppar band on channel 55 and 56 - which are very poorly received by a Group A or B aerial.

RUSTY:
The beacon Hill transmitter no longer provide the COM7 and COM8 multiplexes, one of which carried the Forces TV channel. There is very little likelihood of those multiplexes returning any time soon as they are purely temporary until the full readjustment of channels is completed, probably sometime around 2022 or so.

I would like to know if the Sky channel 'Forces tv' (channel 181) will be repeating the British comedy tv series Never the Twain from the start, as I have missed most of the episodes that have already been shown. There are 67 episodes from series 1-11 and Forces tv is currently on episode 5 of series 9. Also if it is possible, could you forward my query to either Forces tv or Sky as they may be able to help. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Richard

Richard Macphee: Try contacting Forces TV via their own website Forces TV - this website is for technical help with TV & radio reception, no one here is going to contact a broadcaster for someone else.
