JeepUK: Hi, JeepUK. I, too have been disappointed how slow the Beeb has been to update its DAB transmitter lists as new transmitters have come into service in 2016. If you're interested, you can get updates more quickly by Googling 'Ofcom tx params', from where you can download complete lists of all radio transmitters. Ofcom's lists are updated every couple of months - the last update was published early to mid-December, so I'm expecting the next edition in early to mid -February. You'll need a program or application compatible with Microsoft Excel to make the data intelligible. If you don't have on, you can download Apache Openoffice for free and that includes an open document spreadsheet program which is compatible with Microsoft Excel, Another source of info, which is kept up to date quite well is the frequency finder UK website, which is another favourite of mine. Also try Mike Brown's transmission gallery website, mb21. Mike and his team keep his site up to date, based on data available in the public domain. I hope that all of the above will be of interest to you. Of course, I regularly refer to this UKFree.tv website because its owner, Brian Butterworth, aka 'Briantist' has so for all radio transmitters serving the postcode where you live!me lovely innovations on it, especially the transmitter coverage maps. Ian : Good afternoon, Ian. I'm 62 years of age and so I can remember 51 years of analogue tv viewing from 1960, when my father bought our first television, through to 2011, when our tv transmitter switched over to digital only. 'Snow' was only prevalent when we moved into a slight dip in 1970, when our tv transmitter started to transmit BBC1 and ITV on 625 lines UHF in addition to BBC2. I'm afraid that I couldn't watch a slightly snowy picture and so I'd walk over to the television, clean the coax inner and outer, and then reconnect the coax plug to the aerial input socket. If you are finding that you have a poor digital tv signal, there are a large number of actions that you can take to improve your signal sufficiently for you to have a watchable tv picture. Correspondents on this website will offer many different options for you! I think you'll find that UK Government is doing all that it can to improve mobile telephone coverage in this country. StevensOnln1: Much sought-after DAB digital radio capacity has become available in London following changes on the London II multiplex.
The removal of Radio Sputnik at the end of last week and a small reduction in bitrate for Chris Country at the beginning of the month has created space for up to three new DAB+ stations or one stereo 'original flavour' DAB station in the capital, according to multiplex operator Switchdigital, who are inviting interested parties to get in touch.
Switchdigital's London II covers most areas surrounding London in addition to the capital and outside of the small-scale DAB trial in central London is the only local multiplex to support the newer DAB+ broadcasting standard, which is supported by most modern digital radio sets. Late last year, Asian FX became the first station to use DAB+ on the multiplex.
Multiplex monitoring website digitalbitrate.com shows how the capacity has become available in the past few weeks.
Radio Sputnik, Russia's international station, formerly known as Voice of Russia, was removed from the London II multiplex overnight from the 13th to 14th January 2017.

Tom Allen: Hi, Tom. The BBC Radio 4 continuity announcers have to make listeners aware that they have a choice of Radio 4 outputs at different times of the day, such as at 08:35 for 'Yesterday in Parliament (Tues. to Fri.), 09:45 for The Daily Service, 12 midday for Shipping Forecast following a brief News and at 17:52 or 3 for the shipping Forecast again. This is why you'll find the continuity announcer announcing what might appear to you to be a switching of programme content which you, yourself do not experience. I have an old Topfield PVR feeding my Wharfedale HD-ready 19 inch flat screen tv. It all worked fine until the 2nd August retune. My problem since has been that the epg does not update when a tv programme or show ends: my epg display listing starts at the top with the programme that has just ended rather than the new programme or show that has just started. This happens regardless of the epg view I choose. I've tried turning the pvr off at the plug socket and carrying out a second retune and I've deleted all the old pre-aug 2nd. channel numbers for children's channels, news channels, streamed channels, etc., but the problem remains. Could it be that the Topfield PVR has become corrupted since I retuned on 2nd. august? I have signal strength of 87% and quality 97% and the pictures and sound are fine on all channels. I've also tried changing the clock time, also to no avail. I'm at NR2 2EF, house no. 55; 10 miles NE of Tacolneston, but don't think there's anything wrong with the signal, but rather, the Topfield PVR, which is 11 or 12 years old.

Phil Blake: Hi, Phil. They were supposed to complete the DAB Expansion programme by the end of September, but failed to meet that deadline and are now over-running. Here in East anglia, we are waiting for the Felixstowe Docks transmitter to have local DAB ADDED so that residents of Felixstowe will be able to get the Suffolk county local multiplex.
