Jonamat: Thanks for the info. I have been fortunate to receive C29, C31 and C33 all at 55% signal and 100% quality, but I was rather surprised to see the quality on C31 drop to very poor when repositioning the aerial a few inches in either direction. C33 was not affected in this way. I expected C29 to behave like that as it is co-channel with analogue C4 from Little Eaton where I live and either signal can be received perfectly by choosing suitable aerial positions. The nearest analogue transmitters using C31 are Crosspool (Sheffield) and Fenton but it is unlikely that either would be causing problems in Leicestershire even if they could be a factor in more northerly parts of the Waltham service area.

Freeview HD London details | High definition

Jimbo: If you are keen to receive Freeview HD you are predicted to be able to receive it after 20th July 2011 on C47 from the Sudbury transmitter.

Robin Oliver: if your video has its own dedicated freeview box you will be able to record a different channel to the one you are watching and also record when the tv is switched off. You just have to remember to set the freeview box as well as the VCR for timed recordings.

Robin Oliver: If you did a factory reset when rescanning for switchover you might have changed the settings in the menu for what is available on the output on Ext1. The switchover should not have changed the facilities on your tv (except for receivers not supporting the 8k mode which don't receive signals post switchover). Selecting the required option in output settings might be all that is required.

C67 (842.0MHz) after switchover
Wednesday 27 April 2011 3:06AM

Tassos Chryssafis: If you are receiving signals from Sandy Heath MuxC/MuxArqA will continue to use C40+ until 14th September 2011. MuxArqA will then use C67 until 23rd November 2011 when it changes to C52 at high power and 8k mode. You are currently missing MuxArqB which is using C67 at low power until 14th September 2011 when it changes to C48 at high power.

John: If the aerial is mounted on the chimney using two cradle brackets should restrict any movement of the pole when windy, or if wall mounted use T and K brackets for secure fixing. Are you sure the changes to signal level are due to aerial movement? Trees blowing about in the signal path (or movement of a construction crane) can cause considerable variation to both strength and quality.

frank allen: Mux ArqB does not transmit on 682.0MHz until 28th September 2011. This is because the frequency is used by Sutton Coldfield until switchover takes place. The frequency you currently have is temporary until switchover is completed.According to the Digital UK postcode checker you are not expected to receive the COM muxes from Bromsgrove before September, after which the reception is shown as variable. Ridge Hill offers a full service on all six muxes but requires the aerial to be set for horizontal polarisation.

alan: According to the Digital UK postcode checker you only receive a full Freeview service from Sutton Coldfield at your location. It is possible that (like in the reply above from Mike Dimmick to chris pugh) you have stored the channels received from The Wrekin rather than the stronger ones from S/C which are found later in the scan.

Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) transmitter

marjory: Is it possible to check the reception of analogue BBC2 on C51? If you are missing MuxC on C50- and Mux1 on C52+ it is worth looking for a possible problem with reception of nearby frequencies. A faulty booster oscillating or overloading the signal around C51 is a possibility. On the other hand trees in leaf or a poor connection causing the highest frequencies to become weak spring to mind. If all frequencies were affected or reduced power working was in place (although no engineering work is listed) I would have expected MuxA to be affected first.

Mr BH Tucker: According to the Digital UK postcode checker you should be able to receive a full service with good reception from both Kilvey Hill and Wenvoe. Kilvey Hill requires a group A receiving aerial set for vertical polarisation. For Wenvoe use a group B aerial set for horizontal polarisation. If you continue to use a relay transmitter you will probably never receive more than the PSB muxes. It is simply not cost effective for the mux owners to extend coverage to small relay sites.
