David Carter: According to R + T Investigations, no, Sutton is fine.

If there is not signal, then it sounds like your aerial has a problem (loads of this at the moment). Start with the aerial lead - is it connected properly, and work from there.

Cliff Sinclair: Dont be embarrassed - frankly, TV's generally work until they dont, and we seldom have to deal with that.

As for sleep - depends if the kids keep waking me up...

jo: You havn't given a postcode, so we cant check what transmitter your using, and if there is a fault with it. However, I think you stated the problem very plainly - your TV is telling you you have 'No Signal'. That means you have a problem with your aerial.

It could be something as simple as the aerial lead being very loose or falling out, or just being duff. If changing it, or making sure it s plugged in properly cures the problem, great. If not, then you'll probably have to get someone out to look it it. It could be corrosion, an almost broken connection, or water in the system via a break.

The best advice is not to ring someone with just an 0800 or a mobile number, bear in mind that to have an aerial and cable replaced is around £150 as an average, so there a really cheap quote for everything, it probably a cowboy, and that there is no such thing as a 'Digital Aerial'.

Lynne: If you click on the R + T Investigations link next to your question, the answer seems to be currently 'no'. In that case, its almost certainly your system at fault.

Check your aerial lead, etc, but its likely to be a fault with the aerial or cabling.

Kev: Since you've not included a postcode, I can thell you if there is or not immediately, but again, its likely to be a fault with your system. Perhaps a booster has failed, corrosions, frayed cable in a connection, etc. When a TV says 'No Signal', thats what it means, and its usually a problem with the household system.

SeeMoreDigital: The London service seems to want to show even less local content, so perhaps its not just Notts TV - and I'm not impressed with Notts programming either.

And I'm fine for the Waltham transmitter as well, so perhaps Jonathan should try check his system, might just be a dodgy connection hitting that mux.

jo: Mike P has already commented about Swindon here Did this solve the problem? | ukfree.tv - 12 years of independent, free digital TV advice - in reply to kev - your either Mendip or Oxford (which is one reason why a full postcode entered when you ask a question is so useful). If you check both those transmitters, they have no problems. Logically, if its not the transmitter, it has to be you. Could be something as small as an aerial lead loose, duff, or simply fallen out (it happens). But your TV is telling you that its not getting a signal, so either its getting nothing, or so low its not registering. Start from the TV and work backwards.

michele: If the cable works OK, then why not? Of course if the cable doesnt work...

Have a look at Aerials, TV Aerial and Digital Aerial for advice on putting the aerial in the loft.

Daniel: You haven't bothered with a postcode, so we can't find out if there is a problem with your transmitter, but its unlikely that a transmitter would lose 90% of its output for 5 days at not get noticed.

Logically, its your 'aerail', or at least something connecting your TV to it.

Daniel: A postcode would have been helpful (you can just put into the website when asking a question, etc), but since you can see that Sandy Heath has no problems, once again, you are advised to examine your own system.
