Tracey: Your just 7km from Beacon Hill - which seems to be fine. I'm amazed you can't just use the aerial cable...
If you have a problem with reception, I'd start with your system.

Stuart Botevyle: Carmel is having engineering work, and there is something in the way about 2.5km from you.
Having said that, your only 17km away from the transmitter, and your getting 93% strength!
I've also got a Sony PVR, and its a sensitive tuner, but pretty robust. However, 93% is the point at which even the Sony starts to break up due to too much signal strength. Take out any boosters, etc, and look here:

james: Since your just 11km from Midhurst, I suggest at least part of the problem is thatyou might have too much signal....

MIKEB: To my namesake (!) - have a look at the FAQ's - its the most common question - and you cannot record if you dont subscribe. Thats why a Freesat PVR makes more sense - Sky will cost you £120 a year to carry on recording, which is not far off the cost of a PVR.

Rod: Even if its reduced (and the signal is), you should get something. A post code would help to give you more info, but I'd look to your system to troubleshoot first.

Rod: I just found a postcode on an old post of yours - your half a km from the Redditch transmitter (you could just wander along and ask them)! Your pretty much fine with a bit of old wire. I'd certainly troubleshoot!
Sutton is also having engineering, but since your only 33km away from the main transmitter, you'd expect something.

Its 16km - so yep - too much signal might be a problem. Also a shared aerial, so might be a problem there.

saul: we need a postcode to help answer your question, and an outline of where the aerial is, and the tv you have

viclaw: You havn't given a postcode, so advice is pretty limited, but check that your TV isn't getting too good/bad a signal - 75% is perfect. Also check your aerial - if your getting little joy from multiple freeview boxes, then it most likely to be the aerial or cabling.
