Below are all of Ian Farrow's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Regarding the new Drama channel (25) commencing on 8th July 2013, as it will be run by the BBC, will we be able to receive it on the Newhaven transmitter (which is the reduced public service channels only)?
Also- the (unwanted) channels Rabbit and Gay Rabbit seem to have disappeared from the Newhaven Transmitter. Is this correct or is there a danger of them appearing again.

Has anybody noticed over the past few days that through the Newhaven transmitter, we can now receive FILM 4 (Channel 15) which was certainly not available a couple of weeks ago when I had to do a retune. Also, 302 for a while became 308 and now, after yesterday's retune, it has become 302 again. 302/308 don't bother me, but the addition of FILM 4 has been greatly welcome. Is the "Light" transmission on the Newhaven transmitter likely to add any more channels? In the past, when there has been a change, there has been a notice on the TV advising a retune. Why did this not happen when FILM 4 came into the remit? My son's set-top box automatically retunes when necessary, but our TV does not, so it would be good to know if and when another channel appears.

Newhaven transmitter now working again (time is now 23.10 hrs) on both TV and DAB radio. As you said, it would have been nice to know exactly what was wrong - because after all, they would hardly be out working on the mast at this time of night and in this atrocious weather.

18 March 2016 - we seem to have lost ALL of the DAB radio stations on Newhaven-11D . I have done complete retune and none of the stations such as talkSport and Classic FM are even listed. What has happened? Any ideas?

Like Andy Webb, yesterday (Friday 16.09.16) we lost all the stations on DAB D1National 11D waveband. All the BBC stations are still there, together with those on the Sussex Band. Today (Saturday 17 Sept) at 18.00 hrs they are still not back. What has happened, because no faults of service interruptions are reported on the Newhaven transmitter page

Since Friday 16 September 2016 we have lost ALL DAB radio stations on the D1 National Newhaven 11D band. Does anybody know of any reason why, because I can't find any mention of a problem on the Newhaven Transmitter website. We are more than one DAB radio in the house, and the stations have disappeared from all of them. I have done a autotune on my own Pure DAB radio (just now - Sunday 18 Sep at 14.1 hrs) and the only stations it finds and lists are those on the Sussex and BBC bands. We have an outdoor roof aerial pointing to the Newhaven transmitter.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Since Friday 16 September 2016 we have lost ALL DAB radio stations on the D1 National Newhaven 11D band on all 54 DAB radios in our house. Ian Farrow: sorry - I typed 54 radios in our house - it should have read FIVE (5) radios only

Richard Cooper: Thanks Richard, but our roof aerial has to be pointed to Newhaven transmitter for TV coverage and we are having no problems with TV reception. All five radios in the house have their own individual built-on aerials and my Pure radio I have tried retuning away from the house to see if I can get D! stations, but without success. Indoors I have pointed the radio aerials in umpteen different directions and again no success. Heathfield transmitter is no good for our TV reception where we are in Newhaven.
Thanks for your answer - the only one I have received !!! Ian Farrow

Will the Newhaven transmitter ever be upgraded to the COM5 multiplex group (Pick TV, Dave etc etc)
Whilst the quality of the picture is now extremely good, I was so looking forward to certain programmes on PickTv. There was never any indication given to us that we would only receive a Light-Public Service unless we upgraded our aerial to receive the Heathfield transmissions. As a pensioner, there is no way I can afford that.
