Below are all of Keith 's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.BIll I was in your area this morning I was on Winchester Cres S10 4ED - Belmont Really comes in strong in this position - so its not surprising you get the new signal from there
You can bypass your receiver tuning in the belmont signal by holding the aerial out at the VERY BEGINNING of the auto tune - if it counts up in numbers you have to pop the aerial in after it counts past 22 - YOU DO NOT HAVE LONG to do this as it gets to 27 fairly fast but with a bit of quick timing it is possible I did it on several retunes as soon as it shows 23 put the aerial in
Not sure if you will ever get rid of this problem as both transmitters are going to be powerfull in this area you could try attenuating it every time you need to re scan with a 24 db attenuator once its scanned take the attenuator out and store till the next time
There is one sure way of doing it but this method has been described as cracking a wall nut with a sledge hammer
Taylor bros make channel filters that only let the correct frequencies through but the part alone is just over `£100

Bill
the humax receivers you cant just do a channel re scan as it adds the channels it finds to the list it already has
do a factory restore before a rescan !

HI yes a call to sky should resolve the problem - its not just magically going to disappear
Mazbar JB
Was pushed for time at the property with the missing/breaking up channels on transponder 40 so went for the quick option of popping line amps in
Worked a treat the channels were working perfect

Yep DSO should cure this issue

Not heard from any one on the TOTLEY RISE transmitter would be interesting to hear their experience of being able to receive digital off a terrestrial transmitter for the first time

Is it definitely a HD tuner it has built in or does it say HD ready?
If it deffo has a HD tuner Emley moor transmission is on low power compared to the other Muxes (CH49 is also low power)
The HD channels are on CH 39 try a manual scan by entering 39 in the manual tuning menu stannington isnt the best place on earth for reception - but after switchover when Emley moor powers up you may find that the channels you are missing suddenly appear - first stage is 7th of september then 21st
Without putting an analyser on your aerial its difficult to say precisely whats going on but I would hang on till after switchover -if your still having issues give me a call

Sorry Briantist I have to disagree
As long as the aerial is lined up properly and there is a decent signal there is no reason why an aerial would not work in a loft ive installed loads of aerials in lofts - the prefferd place for them is outdoors as the signal is not impeded by the roof tiles
Theres plentu of places where the signal is strong enough to penetrate a roof and be distributed to several tvs without an amplifier
That said theres plenty of places that a loft aerial would not pick any signal up at all so a bit of research about signal strengths in the locality is where i would start - look at how tall or big other peoples aerials are -if they are huge and on 15' masts then no chance but if they are small ten elements on 2 or 4' masts then possibly

Carrie - as you seem to be connected to a sky dish doing a search on the tv will get you no channels
the sky dish screws into the tuner input and does not connect to the aerial input
by connecting the sky dish to the tuner input you can then change channel using the sky remote as long as the dish is lined up correctley of course
if there are some channels missing a card for "freesat from Sky " can be purchased from sky at a cost od £20 - u may already have a sky card in your sky box that will work so thats a step you dont need to worry about
I have used this number in the past to order a freesat card
02077053000 but sky constantly change their numbers you could also try 08706061111

Sheffield Transmitter BBC moved from CH63 to CH27 the old analogue BBC 2 slot and the ITV mux jumped to the PRE bbc Slot of CH63
BOB - I assume your on holiday whilst switchover happens hence not been able to tune on the designated days
No Problem just retune when you get back your not going to miss anything --- unless you have set a hard disk recorder to record while your away

Sheffield
Bill your not the only one - Ive dealt with loads of these issues- Like John says manually retune your receiver
either that or disconnect the aerial for the first part of the auto scan - if the receiver counts up from 21 to 68 disconnect the aerial untill its counted past 34 this will eliminate the new frequency from belmont on ch 22 and the BBC from Billsadale transmitter (some sheffield people have this issue - when it gets to ch35 pop the aerial back in and let it carry on - it will start picking emley moor up at CH 40
Where do you live just out of curiosity?
