Paul Denning:

It is not just high pressure that causes problems such as you report. Being so close to the transmitter means that you may well be receiving too much signal which overloads the tuner in your equipment, so causing break up. It will vary by small amounts with different weather patterns, but the weather is unlikely to be the main cause of your reported problems.

Please chack the signal strengths for all the available multiplexes. If they, or any one of them, is above 85% then you have too much signal and it needs to be reduced by fitting an in-line attenuator. They come in various strengths so try a 6dB one first. They are quite cheap to buy on line and be prepared to fit a stronger one of 12dB if necessary to give good performance. Your signal strengths must be between 55% and 85% for SD multiplexes and between 65% and 85% for HD multiplexes.

Front Runner TV

Tom Firth:

This is not the website of Front Runner. There is a link available near the top of this page, use that to ask yopur question directly to them.

Jamie:

Are all your other channels working OK? If not then you probably have a TV fault. If they are then perform a manual retune on that multiplex only.

Chris barford:

Use the link near the top of this page to contact the broadcaster. This website is for technical advice about reception of TV and radio and has no connection with any broadcaster.

Rob:

Yes you can, by adding a coaxial switch that will allow you to select either of the aerials. You cannot have both at the same time. That solution worked perfectly for me when I could get good signals from both Oxford and Mendip.

True Entertainment

Michael Bridges:

What is your full post code? We need that to determine whether you can receive the signals from any of the available transmitters and whether it transmits COM4 that carries True Entertainment.

To find out if it is available on the internet you need to ask True Entertainment themselves as this website is independent of all broadcasters. There is a link near the top of this page to their website.

Hannington (Hampshire, England) transmitter
Wednesday 31 May 2017 10:22AM

Davews:

It is highly likely that the current weather patterns are causing troposhperic lift conditions, which means that signals from some sources travel further than expected normally. That means you could experience reception from transmitters not intended to serve your area.

Do nothing. Do not retune. Just be patient.

Map of all DAB transmitters

Stella Hume

We need a full post code to be able to offer any assistance. merely stating an area as large as you have given does not help at all.

Only with a full post code do we get to see which of the over 1000 transmitters covers your area and whether there are any transmission or reception problems.

Davews:

The two transmitters are in different directions from Reading and Bracknell, one roughly south and one roughly east. A good correctly positioned aerial should be able to differentiate between the two possible sources. If necessary it may be worth considering a higher gain aerial as they have a narrower reception pattern but may need the use of attenuators to reduce the signal to acceptable levels for you equipment.

London Live is on the LW multiplex from Crystal Palace and that transmitted ob Ch29 (538 MHz). It is only a 20kW transmission, so much less than the majoprity of the other services. I cannot find any reference in the frequency allocations charts for That's Thames Valley, perhaps they have not been updated as yet. I have asked by email for a clarification from That's TV, who run That's Thames Valley, for the full technical details of their transmissions. If I get a reasonable and accurate answer I'll pass on the information.

Roy White:

You need to manually retune the fourth TV so it gets BBC North West instead of BBC Wales.

Both LLanddona and Moel-y-parc are possibly receivable from your location, though they are in a very different direction. The BBCA mulitplex (which includes the regional BBC services) is on the channel 50 multiplex from Winter Hill, on the channel 57 multiplex from LLaddona and on the channel 45 multiplex from Moel-y-parc, As an autotune will pick up the lower channel multiplexes first, you need to do a manual retune to set the TV to get the channel 50 multiplex. That should restore BBC North West.
