Some engineering work was done on the Fenton transmitter on Friday relating to changes to channel usage. So it could be that COMs 7 & 8 have been moved from Channels 32 and 34. So a check of what channels your equipment is tuned to is required. If you look at Coverage Checker - Detailed View you will see that they are now on channels 55 and 56 instead of 32 and 34.

You may find that it has moved channel so check the page on this site for your transmitter and that will tell you what channel is being used. You may need to do a manual retune to get it.

The transmitters are owned and operated by Arqiva and not this website.
There are many instances where engineers have made changes to the channels being used and that often leads to a retune being needed.

You are way off subject. Some of us have considerable technical knowledge and some even have knowledge of medical issues due to having family members qualified in that area.

You would do better to address your concerns to both Arqiva (who operate the transmitters) at Contact Us and your local authority.
This website has no responsibility for any broadcasting service or equipment as it is intended to offer mainly technical advice to resolve reception problems.

Both MikeB and I have considerable experience with TV services, either in a technical or sales/marketing capacity. I've spend 50 years working in the TV industry and that includes operforming emissions testing on TV sets, etc. There are strict rules about what and how much can be radiated from a TV set and any sold to the general public MUST comply with those rules, especially those covering X-Rays and Gamma Rays. Modern LED/LCD TV sets radiate far less X-Ray emissions that did the older CRT sets. Carcinogenic electromagnetic radiations are strictly controlled and any television receiver or transmitter that exceeds these limits would be removed from the market or switched off. You have lived with electromagnetic radiations all around you since you were born, they have been radiated since the days of 2LO (1920's) but they are all at levels below those recommended by health authorities throughout the world. Souces of EMR include radio, TV, mobile phones, microwave communications, and many others. None exceed the required limits.

You should be getting really strongf signals on all channels as you are just 3 km away from the transmitter! Check all the aerial connections you can safely reach. Do this by unplugging each plug/socket and then refitting. Then recheck your channels. If that doesn't resolve it, check what the reported signal strengths are for each multiplex, usually shown on the manual tuning page - but DO NOT perform a retune. The ideal strengths are betwee 60% and 85% for all channels. Anything less or more will cause reception problems.

Please accept that some of us know more of this subject than you do. I am not a 'spokesperson' for the industry, especially as I retired a few years ago and now study advanced physics. My wife happens to be a senior medical practitioner and I take her advice on matters such as this.
Enough said.

Check which channels your equipment is tuning in to. In parts of your area people can get signals from more than one transmitter, so you need to ensure it is receiving the correct channels and you may need to do a manual tune to get it right. Look on the pages on this website for Winter Hill and check the channel numbers against those your equipment has been set to. Your User Manuals will tell you how to do a manual retune and usually the same page is used to show the current channel settings.
