Dave W:

Check all your aerial cables and connections. There is no reported engineering work at Crystal Palace at the time of writing. If there were many millions of viewers would be affected but your is the only report.

Gordon Hayes:

If you do not have cable or satellite services and rely on Freeview, as many do, then I suggest you ring the Freeview Support service on 03456 505050 or look at Important changes to Freeview TV signals | Freeview and look in the FAQ section. If the transmitter you use now requires use of a wideband aerial instead of an existing Group A aerial then they will offer to check and replace as needed free of charge if you qualify. My Uncle has just had his replaced by them as he uses Sandy Heath transmitter. You can find out which of the over 1100 transmitters you probably use by doing as StevensOnln1 has suggested, that is by providing a full posy code.

If you look at the website stated, that is what it will tell you. I knew that already and have previously posted as such here many, many times.

If you look at Digital UK | Planned engineering works it shows that the Machynlleth relay is expected to have possible service interruptions.

The provision of subtitles, of whatever quality, is a matter entirely for the individual broadcaster.

A full post code is m=needed to offer any assistance as there are over 1100 transmitters around the UK.

Some transmitters now have broadcasts that are outside of the range of older aerials. To check that we need the full post code.

Nickadsluk:

Due to the changes of frequencies used at Crystal Palace, a wideband aerial is now essential. The older Group A aerials do not receive signals above Channel 39 but there are now transmissions up to Channel 56. So an aerial capable of receiving these channels is essential to get the full range of services.

Nickadsluk:

Then you either have too small an aerial or need an adjustable amplifier.

Gareth Jones:

Please can you confirm your full post code. This site is using SN25 2BF, but that is in Swindon, Wiltshire where it unlikely that any Welsh transmissions are receivable.

The usual advice is to check which channels your best transmitter is now using and then manually tune to those.
