If you are using a Sky box, then it is on channel number 5. Check the Sky programme guide to ensure you are set up correctly.

Put your full post code into the Digital UK website at Digital UK - Coverage checker That will tell you the expected reception conditions, the correct channel nuymbers to use (you may have tuned to a different transmitter accidentally) and what type of aerial is recommended as a minimum for your area. Nowadays, the usual recommendation is to use a log-periodic aerial in all locations as they get all the available signals.

Take a look at the Digital UK prediction for your location. You will find it at Coverage Checker - Detailed View That shows your location should have excellent reception from Mendip. However, you might be getting signals from one of the other available transmitters, so please check that you are tuned to the correct channels for Mendip as shown on that website.

Freeview transmissions do not normally reach that far (South of France or Spain), unless there is an atmospheric effect in high pressure. The only way you might get some of the Freeview services is via the web, but not all of the broadcasters provide a web-based service.

Further to that said by MikeB, you need to have around 80% signal strength as nearer to 100% will overload the tuner of any TV or box.

There is nothing we contributors can do to correct that despite asking the site owner, Briantist, to make the needed changes. He seems to have disappeared from the site for some reason we do not know. None of us can make any changes to this site, sadly.
