Geoff lowson:

What is your full post code? We need that to check the predicted reception at your location. You have not made it clear which transmitter you are referring to, some DAB transmitters do not provide Freeview services. Television transmitters do not provide mobile phone signals they are provided from separate masts and transmitters.

David:

We need a full post code , not a partial, so that we can look up the expected reception conditions at your location. (A partial such as you have given covers several dozens of square miles and is insufficient to trigger the information needed.)

It is extremely unlikely to be the transmitter, no one else has reported any problems, so I suggest you carefully check all the aerial cables and connections. Unplug all coaxial plugs and sockets and then refit, that will clear any corrosion/oxidation from the contacts which is a common cause of the problems you report.

Then check what the signal strength is reported to be on all the multiplexes broadcast from your local transmitter. You ideally need it to be between 60% and 85% on all multiplexes to have sufficient to allow the TV to decode and not so much as to overload the tuner.

No one has complained but the operators are in the process of making improvements and adjustments to several DAB transmitters, Naish Hill being one of them.

To give any meaningful assistance we need a full post code.

You can enter that into the Digital UK Coverage Checker at http://www.digitaluk.co.u…ker, enter a house number and select the Detailed View option. Then scroll down to see which transmitters can be receivced at your location.

Jackie:

It rather sounds as if the TV has a fault that is preventi g it tuning and storing channels properly. If that is the case then a replacement TV would be the only solution.

The User Manual for your TV set will tell how to access the Manual Tuning option. Before trying to do the manual tuning, enter your full post code into thew Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker then scroll down to find any entry for Winter Hill that shows the channel numbers used by the multiplexes. Make a note of the numbers and use those to manually tune your TV set.

If you have lost the User Manual, you should be able to find one on-line for your specific make and model of TV.

Luca Molin:

This is not the website for ITV+1, you should contact ITV directly as they are unlikely to see your post here. This website has no connection with any broadcaster.

To enable us contributors to offer any meaningful advice we need you to provide a full post code so we can see what the expected receptions should be like at your location. You coiuld be usong any one of the over 1100 transmitters and we need to identify which using your post code.

Please also recheck ALL the aerial cables and connections, unplugging any coaxial plug/socket and then refitting. That will clear the corrosuion/oxidation from the contact surfaces which is the most common cause of the problems you report.

Please provide a full post code so that we can look up the expected reception conditions at your specific location.

You should also check all the aerial cables and connections as far up to your aerial as is possible to reach safely. Also unplug all coaxial plugs/sockets and then refit. That will remove any corrosion/oxidation from the contacts (that is a common cause of reception problems). Then you should check the signal strength shown for COM8 using the manual tuniong option - BUT DO NOT RETUNE. Ideally you need between 60% and 85% strength (not the quality measure). HD usually requires a higher minimum signal strength than SD.

To enable us to offer any meaningful suggestions we need your to provide your full post code so we can look up the expected reception at your location. Any help is not possible without that. You could be using any one of over 1100 transmitters around the UK.
