You should have firstly checked with your neighbours in the building whether they had the same problem.
Having stopped your TV Licence you will now be acting illegally if you try to watch ANY live broadcasts - even if you use a streamed service.
5G is not the cause of your problems as there are as yet almost no transmissions of 5G signals. There has not even been the usual offering of frequencies for 5G use! All there are at present are few trials and nopthing more.
As you are claimimg to be in West London, it is likely that you get your signals from the Crystal Palace main transmitter which serves over 8 million people. There are no known problems with that transmitter. If there were, websites such as this and others would have been swamped with complaints.

Yesterday can be received by any Freesat box. The make or model does not matter, they can all receive the channel.

To do that we need a full post code so that we can determine which transmitter(s) you are able to receive at your location. There are several possibilities hence the need for a more accurate location than 'North Devon' which covers a large area.

The simplest way is to ensure you have a wideband aerial fitted. That will cover sll the possible channels to be used by all transmitters.

I, for one, have mentioned the log-periodic design many times but it is not the only wideband design available. The term wideband surely includes aerials of a modified Yagi design as well as a log-periodic design. It is up to the owner or installer to choose the most appropriate type for the situation. Log-periodics tend not to have as much inherent gain as a modified Yagi and they are not blessed with as narrow a reception pattern. So where the installation needs to reject other signals it may be more appropiate to use a modified Yagi rather than a log-periodic.
Personnally I use a Log-periodic for reception from Mendip and have no problems with it. However, some in the Bristol/Nort Somerset area appear to need to reject other transmitters to avoid the Welsh language services they do not want. I'm sure there are other instances where a modified Yagi as a more suitable choice for the location.

Looking at the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Coverage Checker - Detailed View for your location suggests that the signals from Sudbury are fine except for those on the SDN multiplex, which is shown to be marginal. The listing also shows that reception from Sandy Heath is possibly better giving expected good reception of six multiplexes, but not for COM7 nor COM8.
You need to have a wideband aerial fitted, there is no such thing as a'digital' aerial. If you do not have satellite or cable services, then contact Freeview Suppoert at Important changes to Freeview TV signals | Freeview You may qualify for a free replacement of your aerial.

But you have not given a full post code so we cannot look up what the expected reception is like at your location.

Just a note to everyone using Mendip.
As I use that transmitter and am a regular contributer to this website I am also suffering from poor reception oc channels 32 and 33 despite using a log-periodic aerial (a Log36 design). I suspect the radiated signals are not as good as previously so have ordered a more powerful aerial amplifier to try. I will let you all know how that works when it arrives (due next Wednesday).

There have not been any reports of any problems with the Newhaven transmitter. So either you have an aerial fault or a TV fault. Please would you provide a full post code so that we can check the expected reception conditions at your location.
