Christine: The most likely explanation is that you have a fault with your aerial system. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind each of your TVs? Have you checked whether any neighbours are suffering with the same problem?

Terri: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections? Are all of your TVs fed from the same aerial?

Dorothy Newbery: There are no faults showing for the Sudbury transmitter. Have you checked whether any neighbours are suffering with the same problem? If it's only happening at certain times then electrical interference would be a likely cause, which can come from many things other than central heating.

Freesports

Stephen Kirk: Freesports is carried on the COM8 multiplex which is broadcast from the Waltham transmitter but not the Nottingham transmitter. There are no plans for this to change. If you provide a full postcode we'll be able to see whether you may be able to receive COM8 from Waltham by repositioning your aerial.

G crawford: Together is broadcast on the COM8 multiplex which can only be received using a TV/box or PVR which is capable of receiving HD channels (most will carry the Freeview HD logo).

Peter Seddon: UHF channel 21 is at the opposite end of the UHF band compared to the frequencies which were sold off for 4G services a few years ago, so 4G interference is very unlikely. You're only 5km away and should be getting a strong signal, perhaps too strong (hence my asking for signal strength and quality readings in my earlier reply). Either you have a fault with your aerial system affecting just the PSB3 mux or you may well have too much signal causing the tuner to be effectively deafened, presenting similar symptoms to the signal being too weak (search this website for an article titled "Too much of a good thing").

Anne Gilbey: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind both TVs? Do both TVs use the same aerial and do you have an amplifier? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted coverage etc.

Howard Dodd: Retuning is never a good idea when you have a weak signal as all you are doing is deleting all of your channels and searching for them again. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Which transmitter are you using? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage etc.

Ken: COM7 & COM8 were never broadcast with vertical polarity from Rowridge, they were only ever horizontal before the recent frequency changes. Perhaps your aerial was just less effective at rejecting the horizontally polarized signal on the old lower frequencies when mounted with the elements vertical.

Martin G Nash: If you don't have satellite or cable you may be eligible to have a replacement wideband aerial fitted free of charge if the missing channels cannot be restored by manual tuning. This can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).

Tranter: There are no faults showing for either the Perranporth or Redruth transmitters. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Are you seeing problems on any other channels? Do not attempt to retune as this will never fix a problem with a weak signal.
