Or you can enter your postcode at Freeview | All your favourite TV shows, all in one place and all for free then click Detailed View on the next page and it will show you which transmitters are predicted to be available, with the compass bearing and polarity (either horizontal or vertical) that the aerial elements (the little rods) need to be for each transmitter.

Ian Porter: TBN moved to the PSB3 mux a while ago and can therefore only be received with a HD (DVB-T2) tuner.

Dave Makin: Moel y Parc only broadcasts the Welsh versions of BBC1/2 and ITV, it does not broadcast BBC North West or ITV Granada. From looking at the Freeview checker, it would appear that you should be able to get a good North West/Granada signal from Winter Hill if those trees weren't in the way. You haven't given a full postcode for your caravan, however it is safe to say that you must be receiving Noth West/Granada from another transmitter at the location, rather than from Moel y Parc.

Brian Bullick: If you receive Freeview from the Winter Hill transmitter then you will need to retune, although due to the large numbers of viewers affected (Winter Hill covers most of North West England including 2 large cities as well as various smaller cities and large towns) and the possibility that many viewers will require new aerials to be fitted, the PSB1 multiplex is currently being broadcast on both the new and old frequencies for the next 2 months in order to allow time for reception problems to be resolved without viewers loosing access to the main BBC channels.
If you retune and find that you are still receiving BBC 1 on channel 1 and BBC 2 on channel 2 (with copies of both on 751 & 752) then you are successfully receiving the new frequency and shouldn't need to take any further action. If after retuning you can't receive BBC on channels 1 & 2 then you should contact the Freeview Advice Line for assistance, who can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable (you should still find BBC 1 on 751 and BBC 2 on 752 with the other BBC channels and radio stations on numbers between 755-777 enabling you to still watch those channels until your aerial is sorted out). See the link below for further information.

patrizia: Planet Knowledge is an internet streamed channel which only works on compatible internet connected TVs, as the channel number is effectively just a portal linking to various programs which can be streamed via your internet connection.

Tony: Are you using Freeview? If so, please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitters are available at your location, your predicted signal strength and where you are in relation to them, etc.

Dave: Frequency changes for the 700MHz clearance were completed at Ridge Hill a couple of years ago, there have been no recent changes announced. Have you lost any other channels? Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

Carol Owen: Are you in a flat or apartment with a communal aerial system? If so it may need adjusting to work with the new frequencies. If you're in your own home and don't have satellite or cable, give the Freeview Advice Line (see link below) a call, who can arrange for someone to come out and fit a replacement aerial if required, free of charge.

S S Stoker: If Freeview are sending an engineer then you won't need to pay for a new aerial (unless you have satellite or cable) as the work carried out is funded by a help scheme setup to provide new aerials for viewers whose existing aerials are not designed to receive the frequencies new in use. Stanton Moor has moved from the higher part of the UHF band to the lower part, so some viewers with older Group C/D aerials will need to have these replaced, which is what the engineer being sent by Freeview will do.

Amanda McGlew: Retuning is the worst thing to do when you loose signal as you have now deleted all of your channels which were previously correctly tuned, making it more difficult to see when the problem has been fixed. I'm guessing from your post that you live flat/apartment with a communal aerial system. Have you checked whether any of your neighbours have also lost signal? If they have, it points to a fault with the aerial system (it may have been damaged by the recent bad weather) in which case you will need to contact whoever is in charge of maintenance and get them to send someone to investigate.
