All channels on Freesat are free to air, they box would not be able to display them if they were encrypted.

Anthony: C56 is COM8, which has just been cleared of channels today (all that is left are duplicate channels with retune messages) and is to close completely by the end of the month, so there isn't really any point in tuning it in now. C30 is the local mux, which as Chris says may not have good reception at your location.

jason: You still need a TV licence to receive foreign channels, even if you don't receive any BBC channels. You can watch online catchup services (excluding BBC iPlayer) without needing a TV licence, but reception of broadcast channels via any means requires a TV licence.

SteveEllard: There have been no technical changes to Pick on Freeview, it is still broadcasting on LCN 11. Have you also lost Dave (LCN 19) which is broadcast on the same multiplex?

John: Channels on COM7 & COM8 have been reshuffled, so that the remaining channels are all now on COM7, with COM8 now only broadcasting retune messages, ahead of being switched off by the end of the month. There is no confirmed date for when COM7 will close, or whether any of the remaining channels will move to other multiplexes.

Janet Morris: This is not the website of Really channel, no one here has any decision or influence over which adverts are shown.
Rupert: STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh were merged a few years ago, then sold to That's TV, who replaced them with That's TV Scotland. C32 is the local multiplex from Craigkelly, C30 is Black Hill, both changed frequency as part of the 700MHz clearance programme.

Neil Robbins: COM8 is being closed because it is not commercially viable for Arqiva to operate it any more. It won't be replaced with anything else, as it was only ever a temporary service which was always going to close in the next couple of years (along with COM7) when the frequencies it broadcasts on start to be used my the mobile networks for 5G.

Rupert: The detailed view postcode checker on the corporate/platform management section of the Freeview website will give you up to date frequency channel allocations (and planned future changes) if you enter your postcode.

Suzy: Have you tried powering it off at the mains for 10 minutes, then power it back on? If that doesn't work, it may be that the hard drive is failing.
