STV2 is broadcast under local TV licences Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayr, Dundee and Aberdeen. The only way to watch outside these areas is via Sky (channel 117) or STV's website or smart phone/TV apps.

David Finnie: BBC Radio Scotland is broadcast on local commercial multiplexs which don't currently cover all areas of Scotland. The BBC national stations are broadcast on the BBC's own multiplex which is identical across the whole of the UK and is unable to carry stations such as BBC Radio Scotland (unless another station was removed or reduced in quality across the whole UK). Plans haven't been announced yet to expand coverage of BBC Radio Scotland on DAB but are likely to be announced once a date is set for a digital radio switchover.

Richard: You should get a good signal from Sandy Heath at your location (according to the Digital UK postcode checker) although as you are 60km from the transmitter it would be recommended to have a rooftop aerial fitted which will give much better results than you are likely to get with an indoor aerial. Although if all your want it for is to listed to BBC Three Counties radio you could easily do that online (use something like a Google Chromecast Audio device if you want to listen via a hifi setup).

Stuart Graham: The most likely explanations are either that you have a problem with your aerial system or you are suffering with electrical interference from something (probably containing an electric motor) which is switched on at night. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so we can access the coverage prediction for your location.

Tony: This website did not send you any message to retune your Humax PVR (this website is independent and has nothing to do with any broadcaster or transmitter company). Although not showing as covering your postcode, the most likely explanation is that your PVR has picked up the Wenvoe transmitter in South Wales when it retuned rather than Mendip. Carry out a manual retune on C49 and BBC West should be restored.

Steve Cox : Because either the broadcast can't or isn't prepared to pay the rates charged for coverage on one of the London multiplexes, or there isn't space on capacity that they can afford.

steve P: Or perhaps it has something to do with medium wave transmitters being relatively expensive to operate compared to the low numbers of people listening to them. All BBC local radio stations are available on Freeview and online so there are other ways to listen as an alternative DAB and FM (particularly if you are listen to a station outside of its coverage area).

james sinfield: PBS America is not on Freeview. It's available as a free to air channel on a Sky or Freesat box (no subscription required).

PAUL CROZIR: If the signal strength is very high, the tunes in your TVs may be suffering from signal overload. Try turning down the gain on the amplifier a little.

Paul Wicks: Please provide a full postcode so we can see which transmitter you're using and where you are in relation to it. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?
