gerry brown: The multiplex you refer to (SDN) is on low power from Sandy until 9th May when it will change channel, necessitating a retune. All others are at high power.

Briantist: According to Digital UK Tradeview and Ofcom licences document V7, SDN will move to C51 on 9th May, and not 18th April as previously advised.

Vic Sullivan: HD services will be broadcast from Midhurst from 14th March. On the same date all other channels will go to their full power, equivalent to that of analogue. At present, only BBC standard definition TV and radio are on their full post-switchover power.

It is possible that your signal boosters could be causing issues, so you would be advised to try removing them.

Switchover process - clarification of details
Wednesday 29 February 2012 10:25AM

Mr P.J.Ball: Yes, you will have to do a full retune on those dates.

I say this because in general it is the case and will definately be the case on 21st March. I have a Toshiba TV which, at first switchover, I didn't have to do a full retune because simply manually tuning in the BBC multiplex (which had moved and switched to full power) did the trick. This often does not work, it depends on the device. However, there is nothing to be lost in trying. If your equipment allows, you could try tuning to channel 24 on 7th March. If that doesn't get the BBC channels back, then you will have to do a full retune.

Rowridge is expected to be back on again by 6am, but don't be surprised if it is back before then.

mike knapp: If your mother is receiving her TV from Sudbury, then Arq B ("Arqiva B") multiplex is on low power until 27th June. Many many people have reported issues with picking it up via this website.

For a list of channels on Arq B, see here:

Len Ogier: The multiplex that carries ITV3, QVC, ITV2+1 and others is on low power from Sandy Heath until 9th May.

Try manually tuning to channel 31 if your receiver has a manual tune facility.

gerry wright: What transmitter is your aerial directed to? Is it Hannington?

You might need to remove any booster you have.

I put the post code for MOD Boscombe Down in to the Digital UK Tradeview and it gives 100s for most multiplexes from Mendip:

Postcode Checker - Trade View

With that in mind, check that it hasn't tuned to Mendip (hence the signal is coming from a direction from which your aerial does not face).

A AGIUS: A fuzzy picture is not something you get from reception of digital signals, so I would certainly not suspect an aerial problem.

If you are using a separate Freeview box, I wonder if it is noise being picked up in the scart lead between it and your TV.

How have you got everything connected? How do you watch Freeview on your TV (what do you have to select)?
