Peter Wood: There is a possible simple answer to this and that is that when the TV scans frequencies it goes from low to high. The lowest frequencies at your location come from Belmont in Lincolnshire which broadcasts Yorkshire TV. Thus any poor reception is due to the fact that the aerial is facing the wrong direction for the signal that is tuned to.
I am assuming that your aerial is pointing at Waltham (north west). The simplest and most generic suggestion to affect a resolution is to run the automatic tuning scan with the aerial unplugged up until 55%. This will ensure that you don't pick up Belmont or Sutton Coldfield.
You will then need to manually tune to channel 29 to add "SDN" multiplex from Waltham which carries ITV3 and others.

Peter Wood: I would like to add one final thing.
Belmont uses two channels within the same range as Waltham (for which you will have your aerial plugged in), so there is perhaps an outside chance that your TV might go with these. You might like to confirm that you have the correct (Waltham) ones and you should be able to do this by going to the services in question and bringing up the signal strength screen and ensuring that the UHF channel that it is tuned to is correct.
Pick TV from Waltham is on C56 and Belmont is on C53.
Yesterday from Waltham is on C57 and from Belmont is on C60.

Peter Wood: Some receivers, having completed the automatic tuning scan, give the user a choice of "Network". This is basically a choice of transmitter where multiple transmitters have been picked up.
I know that Belmont is something like "E Yorks & Lincs", so Waltham might be something like "E Midlands". If you recall seeing something like this at the end of the tuning scan, then there is no need to do the unplugging aerial trick; just run the scan and select the appropriate Network.

Phil Smith: Which transmitter is your aerial directed at?
You mention Channel 4 being on Logical Channel Number (LCN) 8 which implies that it is tuned to a transmitter in Wales as it is displaced from LCN4 by S4C.
If you are receiving from Mendip then Arq A and Arq B are on low power until 28th March. These carry the services you identify as missing, except Channel 4.
I wouldn't go with Calne unless there is no other option as it is a Public Service Broadcaster (PSB) transmitter only as it does not carry the commercial (COM) multiplexes.
If Channel 4 does not appear on LCN8, then is it present on LCN4?

If you say where you are I might be able to suggest a way round it. I am wondering what transmitter the erroneous signal is coming from; go to the signal strength screen whilst tuned to Anglia and see what UHF channel it is tuned to.

David: Yes, BBC B is the multiplex that carries HD services, including those of ITV and Channel 4.

jb38, Roger Tinner: If there were to be a fault that is causing issues in a particular area, then surely it wouldn't be reflected in the predictions given by Digital UK Tradeview.
jb38: Could the "variable" prediction be as a result of another transmitter being co-channel and Roger being in a spot that has (pretty) good line of sight with another transmitter(s)?

Le Rhyff: You would be best off sticking with Mendip unless you wish to change regional programming.
Two of Mendip's commercial multiplexes are on low power and will remain so until 28th March, these being Arq A and Arq B. According to Digital UK Tradeview, the former is lower than the latter.

Shrewton transmitter currently broadcasts only analogue TV and after switchover will only carry the Public Service Broadcaster (PSB) multiplexes and not the commercial (COM) ones.
