Lynn S.: Do you use an amplifier/booster? Perhaps this has failed. Even if there is a light on, don't assume that it is working. A faulty or non-powered amplifier will give out no signal.
Could this be in the loft, for example, and maybe powered from a circuit breaker that has tripped and requires resetting.

caroline: Confirm that your receiver is tuned to the correct transmitter. As Einstein said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
I looked on Streeview and all the aerials I saw face Sudbury. They are horizontal and pointing west.
The Felixstowe relay transmitter is in the Ranelagh Car Park, aerials pointing to this are vertical.
Refer to this page:
http://www.dtg.org.uk/ind…html
Sudbury broadcasts all channels (shown on the above page), i.e. PSBs+COMs. Felixstowe broadcasts PSBs only.
Bring up the signal strength screen on the following and check they are tuned correctly:
PSB1 | BBC One | Sudbury=C44 | Felixstowe=C45
PSB2 | ITV | Sudbury=C41 | Felixstowe=C51
PSB3 | BBC One HD | Sudbury=C47 | Felixstowe=C53

Alison: If the issue is with the aerial system then it's probably out of your hands and should be reported to the party responsible.
I asked if it is a communal aerial system because they are sometimes filtered so as to only let through (from the aerial) the channels/frequencies that are used by the transmitter.
Refer above under the heading "How the transmission frequencies change over time". Down the left-hand side are channels numbers and left to right is time (years). C49, BBCA (BBC standard definition services) has never been used before. C48, which is SDN (ITV3, 5*, 5USA etc) had never been used prior to switchover. If you lost COM4/SDN at switchover (Spring 2010!) then that might be because it is being filtered out and the aerial system hasn't been adjusted accordingly.

John Crabb: What about the strengths on the other multiplexes?
PSB2 - ITV
COM4 - ITV3
COM5 - Pick TV
COM6 - Film4

Mosey: Freesat is entirely compatible with the dish as from that point-of-view Sky and Freesat are the same.
I don't have one myself and am not a professional, but the Humax's are spoken highly of on here:

If you get a recorder you will need two feeds from the dish, which I assume you have as you refer to Sky+. This is so that you can receive two channels at the same time.
If you don't get a recorder then you only need one feed and the other remains unconnected.

John Crabb: I write on here as a technical bod and not an aerial professional.
You could always try removing the amplifier. If it was installed to pick up the lower-powered pre-switchover channels, then it may be surplus to requirements owing to the boost in digital signal strengths.
The 20s aren't used by Mendip, so whatever you're picking up is coming from elsewhere and may therefore be poorer.
With lofts there are spots where the signal isn't as good and all channels often aren't the same.

Paul Adams : I assume that you're referring to the BBC and not NBC!
BBC standard definition services (PSB1) should have been restored now.
Retuning was NOT necessary for those using Slad as none of its broadcast channels changed.
If, however, retuning was carried out before the transmitter's receiving channel was changed then it will be necessary to carry out another retune in order to get PSB1 back again. Rather than carrying out a full retune, it may be possible to affect the same result by manually tuning to UHF channel 23.

Tony Ellis: Refer to this list of services by multiplex:
DTG :: DTT Services by Multiplex
The Public Service (PSB) channels broadcast from all transmitters that former analogue did, hence it has the same coverage. The Commercial (COM) channels, which are those you're not getting, only broadcast from the largest, by viewer population, transmitters.
Bath has its own relay which is PSB-only. Thus, anyone who uses it won't have the COMs. In some cases it may be possible to use Mendip instead, so as to receive PSBs+COMs.
The only thing I can but wonder is if your aerial faces the Bath relay, which is next to Bath Golf Club. Even thought it's vertical and pointing in the other direction, you were lucky and managed to pick up Mendip's COMs.
If so then maybe you need to pester your landlord, or whoever's responsible for the aerial system, to get them to change it to receive from Mendip.
Bring up the signal strength screen on BBC One. For Bath relay it will be tuned to C25 and C49 for Mendip. And for ITV it will be C28 for Bath and C54 for Mendip.
One final question: What are the retunes that you've had to do? Choose which transmitter you're using there haven't been any retunes until today.
