@Peter B: Yes it was voice recognition software. I am evaluating using it to list alongside the media podcasts in the "Read This" section.

Note: The Selkirk transmitter is now being "done" in March 2017.
"Freeview said the updating of the Selkirk transmitter in south-east Scotland in March will enable the firm to test its processes ahead of the full rollout, which will begin in the summer.
The Selkirk transmitter serves about 18,000 homes. Some Freeview channels will move to new airwaves, which means that Freeview viewers in the south of Scotland will need to retune their TV equipment on 1 March to continue watching BBC channels.
Ofcom said that for the vast majority, the move will require only a simple retune.
It estimates that in total 100,000 households might need to change their roof-top aerial, and that a small number of viewers might need to fit a filter to their TV to prevent mobile phone signals from interfering with TV reception."

John Clemence: OK, fair point.
The channels per "multiplex" are listed on https://ukfree.tv/transmi…exes
Basically 1 (PSB1) carries BBC TV and radio; 2 (PSB2) is ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5; 3 (PSB3) is BBC One HD, BBC Two HD , ITV HD, Channel4 HD and Channel 5 HD.
Then 4,5,6 (com4, com5, com6) carry all the rest of the Freeview channels, mainly in no logical order whatsoever.
7 and 8 (com7 and com8) provide extra HD channels like BBC FOUR HD and QVC HD.

R Taylor: The Selkirk transmitter is being used as a "Trail stage" ahead of the rest of the UK - just like Ferryside did for the Digital Switch Over Which Freeview channels does the Ferryside transmitter broadcast?

For me, I think the issue is that there is no longer any Switchover Help Scheme - BBC - The Switchover Help Scheme - Inside the BBC - so there is no help for those people who need assistance - due to being infirm or disabled.
These scheme allowed people who need subtitles (due to deafness) or special remote controls to have one-on-one help. This isn't going to happen for 700 Clearance because the changes are supposed to be just re-scans and the "odd" aerial change.
If, when, DVB-T2 happens there will need to be another Switchover Help Scheme.
