michael: Yes, indeed there was, and indeed still is.

Funny you don't hear it from those with a vested interest in you not knowing it.

Dan: If your aerial points at Sutton Coldfield transmitter (you get West Midlands services on BBC and ITV) then you won't be able to get Freeview until switchover.

If your aerial is pointing at Waltham (East Midlands on BBC and ITV) you should get perfect Freeview reception today with the most basic of rooftop aerials, but you will only get the BBC services if you have not changed the aerial to the "wideband" type.

From Wednesday 31st August 2011 you will get five of the six multiplexes from Waltham with an existing aerial.

Heather Martinez: All you need is a standard aerial pointing at the Crystal Palace transmitter. It will work today and for the foreseeable future.

BBC regions and nations - some notes

Mark A.: I did cover the ITV and Channel 4 regions on the ITV1+1 11 January 2011 (at last) | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page.

I might do some more work on them to link into Lyngsat. The search box on ukfree.tv also searches Lyngsat.

Ian Barratt: I think you will find they are exactly the same.

I would suggest that you have some issue with the settings on your box or TV set.

K I Moore: Yes, you can use Freeview and Freesat HD together with no problems at all.

This is the best way to get ALL of the free channels as there are some that are only free on Freeview, such as Dave, and plenty that are only on satellite - see the All free-to-watch channels | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page.
