My Post Code is NN12 7TN and I use the Sandy Heath transmissions.

Looking through my channel list recently I came across Sewing Quarter on channel 794 with EPG info stating Rescan Now. However, clicking on the channel brings up "Data only" (or similar) and then a page stating the channel has moved and a rescan is need. However, rescanning does not show any change whatsoever, with Sewing Quarter still appearing as channel 794, etcetera as before.

Can anyone offer an explanation regarding Sewing Quarter? Is it an active Freeview channel or Pay-per-View - or what? Any advice will be welcomed, if only to placate my wife whose is interested in sewing related matters!

Regards

For StevensOnln1.

Thanks for that - although I discovered the program on channel 78 after I'd posted. However, since it appears to be only an online sales channel, it was hardly worth the effort because my wife was hoping for sewing demos, etc.

Cheers and thanks again.

Why does my SD TV (an LG Monitor/Tv model M227WDP) not show any Freeview channels between 85 and 100? The missing channnels DO appear (as SD) on my alternative HD Tvs (a Sony and another LG) elsewhere in the house. All TVs are fed from a distribution system which shows no problem on any TV vis-a-vis signal strength or quality.

I've tried numerous retunes, all to no avail and am puzzled as to why I can't see the missing SD channels on an otherwise perfect SD TV. My local transmitter is Sandy Heath and my Post Code is NN12 7TN.

Any advice or explanation will be appreciated.

Where can I find a list showing which multiplex serves each program channel (ie, LCN, not mux channel) for the Sandy Heath transmitter?

I'd like this to help diagnose a !"garbage data" problem in some channels despite Signal Quality being 100%.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you MikeP and Paul for your swift responses.

MikeP: You've rather missed the point or are attempting to teach "granny to suck eggs". I'm well aware of the LCNs being common to all Txs and areas. What I was trying to avoid in my enquiry was any possible confusion which might be read into "channels"; hence my specific distinction between LCNs and mux channels.

That said, my problem is with an HD set top box which shows "garbage characters" for EPG or Info on some LCNs in the same mux, despite adjusting signal level with an attenuator whilst maintaining a high (usually 100%) signal quality. I suspect the problem lies in the box whose tuner appears to be exceptionally sensitive (useful) but the signal processing may have limited dynamic range (not at all useful). Being able to identify which Mux is involved may assist me in my further investigations

However, I'm still open to suggestions.

Paul: Bravo! You hit the nail on the head. The link you offered is EXACTLY what I needed. Many thanks.

I'm still somewhat puzzled by the 700MHz Clearance plan for the Sandy Heath transmission area. According to the schedules there are no further retunes planned - but RF Channels 51 (Com4), 55 (Com7) and 56 (Com8) are still in use - and all are above 700MHz.

I have seen comments on the web that Com7 and Com8 will no longer be available within the next two years or so. Is that nationwide or just for some areas? If it applies to Sandy Heath this would remove the transmissions currently on 746MHz and 754MHz - but it would still leave Com4 in the 700MHz band on 714MHz.

If Channels 55 and 56 ARE lost, are there any plans for Com7 and Com8 to be reassigned to other channels - or will their services be lost for ever?

I'll be grateful if someone can clarify the Clearance definitively.

Today's (13May19) retune has seen the disappearance of the Forces TV, Smithsonian, etc programs from Sandy Heath, the associated COM mux on RF channel 52 having now disappeared. Can anyone tell me whether these former programs have been reallocated to other muxes or RF channels and, if so, which - also what are the new LCN numbers?

To both StevensOnln 1 and Chris, SE:

I'm too long in the tooth (and professional) to be taken in by loose cables, etc (see my previous posts) and I'm happy to stand corrected about Ch52 (722.0MHz) and Ch56 (754.0MHz). Whatever, the programs I mentioned are still missing (and, indeed, there are no TV signals above 714.0MHz (Ch51) at NN12 7TN) so my question stands: what has happened to the former Forces TV, Smithsonian, etc. programs from Sandy Heath? Have they been reallocated to other muxes (if so, please identify) or have they gone forever?

Finally, a definitive list of mux channels (or frequencies) now radiated by Sandy Heath would be appreciated.
