For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

lynn: Are the trees, seen on satellite images, in line with your aerial?

At 22 miles from the transmitter, with apparent line-of-sight (assuming no obstructions on the ground), you shouldn't have a weak signal, so a booster should not be the first thing to try.

Hi. ive started to get interfeirence(blocky picture) on my BBC channels.
The main tv downstairs is affected but the tv upstairs is ok.
Ive fitted a 4g filter but it doesnt seem to have solved the problem, the Ariel is only 5 years old & has a signal booster fitted.
I live in the SK23 6EB area.

Andy: If you have a signal amplifier then the filter needs to go before it as the amplifier itself could be being overloaded by the 800MHz 4G signal.

In any case, why have you got a signal amplifier when you live within a stone's throw of the Ladder Hill transmitter?

Dave Lindsay: To be fair to you, the Ladder Hill transmitter isn't exactly far away either!

The question we would all like to ask is why Andy has a signal booster at all? Frankly, you could argue he might do fine without the aerial!

maureen stygall: I dont know whether your tuned to Sandy Heath or Waltham, but I'm in PE1 and everything is fine on Waltham. R & T reckons Sandy Heath is OK as well.

Sounds like a problem with your aerial system.

Hi,

Just setting up my new EE TV and only getting 9 channels - this is on auto and manual tuning.

Will this be related to what I believe to be an outage detailed on the map relating to Bbc channels?

Thanks

Chris

Chris G: If you are just in the process of setting up (tuning) your box, then although both the Ramsbottom and Haslingden transmitters were out of action from 23.03hrs yesterday until 00.39hrs today, I don't see anything mentioned with regards to any further problems such as the transmitters operating on reduced power, something which may cause difficulties with reception dependant on the aerial being used.

Another point being, you mention only receiving 9 programme channels, is BBC1, ITV1 or any of the HD channels included in the 9? also, is the aerial being used newly installed? and is any form of booster being used with it?

By the way, Ramsbottom is indicated as being the transmitter covering your area, the Mux channels being C53 (BBC) - C60 (ITV) - C57 (HD service)
