All the HD channels seem to have disappeared from the Eyemouth transmitter. SD channels are OK.

Elaine:

Then you need to manually tune to the preferred transmitter. Your User Manual will tell you how rto do that and use the Digital UK Coverage Checker to look up which channels to tune to, see Digital UK - Coverage checker

as the SD channels are all still working then so are the HD services. Check your aerial system and that you are tuned to the correct transmitter.

Problems started on Saturday with signal drop out and no video on the HD channels 101 to 105. I tried the auto digital tune on my Sony TV and these channels disappeared completely. Same situation this morning so I did another auto digital tune and channels 101 to 105 are back. I can only assume the HD Mux was down or faulty for several hours as the SD channels were always fine.

The HD multiplex was not 'down' at all as no one else has reported any loss of those programmes. Please check the signa;l strengths of the affected multiplexes for the transmitter, you need at least 60% strength and ideally not more that 85%.

It is worth noting that the multiples carrying those HD services also carries some of the SD services.

Yes it was all signals on PSB3, low power might have been the issue. Fine now.

As the transmitter was not on low poaer, you must check your aerial sysytem and connections. Poor contact will cause problems with just one frequency.

The replacement Overlap Blocking Filter arrived yesterday and I installed it today. This one seems to work correctly, with substantial attenuation of channels 20 to 30, which is what I wanted. Channel 56 is now 80% signal strength, 80-100% signal quality which is also what I had hoped for, and all the usual channels are also good. So the diagnosis of blocking of weak signals due to input overloading from my local Freeview Lite transmitter seems to be correct. Maybe some of the problems others have with poor reception could be due to the same problem and benefit from the same solution.

Hope this is useful feedback.

Loss of TV Freeview signal over several nights since 21/10/2018 mostly BBC ITV CHANNEL4 CHANNEL 5 But also others.
This is very annoying we have tried retuning when this happens but with no effect.
We have had similar problems on and off since the digital service took over from terrestrial TV and so had new aerial's fitted which was a waste of money.
Sat dishes are the best way to go and work out cheaper than TV aerials.....Run it on the Freesat network same amount of channels as Freeview but less hassle.

Chris:

Thanks for the feedback. Glad the system is now working as you wanted all along. It also helps to confirm that my suggestions about signal strength requiremnets are correct and in accord with manufacturers technical guidance.
