Brian: Also there is a retune at Tacolneston; Mux B on C58 moves to C66 and Mux C from C61 to C68. This is to protect against Waltham BBC A on C61 from tonight, and Waltham BBC B on C58 in two weeks.

Mike Dimmick: Thanks for that. Yes, it's in my diary. I've been busy all day, so I'm just doing the write-up for both events right now.

I have had a standard sky box for years then had additional box put into another room by SKY who connected up the cable from the dish. This was in the early days of extra boxes and I got fed up paying SKY additional costs. My second box has not been used for years. As I still have analogue TVs, my main TV is OK with the sky box but on the other TV I have lost all channels so I tried to connect my SKY box back up again. I cannot receive any channels, which I thought I could at least BBC1, ITV etc. I keep getting No Signal being Received on the screen. I know it is an old box and old card with a different number from my main Sky card. I have tried some of the suggestions on your site, but no joy. Can anyone help please. I can't afford to buy new TVs plus a part of my terrestial tv ariel blew away and it is expensive to repair it as well. I thought the SKY option would be a good one as I have the dish. Many thanks if anyone can help

Tim: Unfortunately this could indicate that your TV or box is not capable of responding to the changed transmission mode of 8K that started at the same time as the high power switchover on this particular channel, with the ITV etc doing likewise on the 31st.

It should tell you in the manual of whatever you are using whether it can or not, this seen in the specification section, if only 2K is indicated then thats the problem.

If you care to come back with the model of device you are using, I (or someone anyway) might be able to check on it, but it should be said that if this is the cause, then in many cases its not rectifiable.

I have spent a fortune on updating for this digital switchover, I have a new TV freview and HD. a new ariel and a booster box, and have lost all itv programmes I only have one quarter of the programmes I had prio to the switchover today. I have been called out by my elderly neighbours who are confused by this too. How angry I am I can not put into printable words, I work all hours on a meagre wage to keep my head above water. I am not entitled to any state freebies, as I work the hours, The person who decided that WE must go didgital whould now fix all our problems FREE OF CHARGE. I had not one problem with my SD or freeview chanels before switchiver, in fact the last 18mnths with the freeview TV I had a great choice, now all I have is the Bloody BBC, and dont I pay enough in the TV licence for them. there is a lot of TV retailers and ariel suppliers becoming very rich in all this whilst we the ever paying public are yet again suffering at the hands of WHO????? any one else annoyed?, I feel like sueing whoever it is forcing these expensive chnages on us for EXTORTION. and taking away our freedom of choice.

When will Freeview HD channels be available in the East Midlands, specifically for postcode LE65 1LY ?
Will the quality of the picture be better if the ariel is pointed towards the Sutton Coldfield transmitter rather than Waltham?
Will I need an HDMI cable and if so what type and how do I fit it and where?
We suffer from interference from motor scooters. Is it true that a larger ariel will cure the problem and if so have you any advice?
